One Handsome Friend

Happy Monday to you!  I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to start this New Year off on the right foot.  We had fun at hubby's work party Friday night, in fact it was complete with food, drinks, bowling, lazer tag and the arcade.  After eating, hubby's coworkers decided to bowl; I love bowling but to be honest I'm not good at it. In fact, if low score won, I would have won both games.
I will say being in such a huge facility that was packed, I was a bit concerned about bugs being spread.   All of my life, I have had bad allergies and often can't tell whether it's a cold or allergies when I'm sick.  Sure enough, during the night I started having a lot of drainage-not a good sign for me.
By Saturday it developed into a cough and yesterday it had settled in my chest.  Still not sure whether it is a cold or just allergies; this meant that we had a pretty lazy weekend.
Saturday afternoon I happened to walk into our bedroom and saw this beautiful Coopers Hawk in the tree outside of our window.  Hubby grabbed the camera and got this shot for me.  I love seeing the Hawks, but don't love how they kill the smaller birds-no I'm not with PETA, just don't like sparrows getting killed.  Speaking of dead birds, Hunter brought a present in the other day-you guessed it, he carried in a small sparrow but was obedient when I told him to drop it.  There were no indications of what caused the birds death, but I'm thinking the cold.
Today will be another day at home, it is just too cold to go out.  I will get some sewing in this afternoon as well.
I hope you are staying warm and healthy.
Hugs to you today!

  2. I am sorry you are sick; prayers for you....

  3. Glad the party went well but sorry to hear your not feeling well. Soo much is going around out here too. Makes you want to just stay in...but I don't, lol. Praying you feel well soon. Great bird shot!

  4. I love the beauty of the hawks. I just wish they only ate mice not other smaller birds. But that is the way of life. I am so sorry you are not well. It is just plain awful when you can't tell what is happening...cold, sinus, flu, or what. Take care. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  5. Hoping you feel better soon! I am sorry but Hawks are NOT something I love....they make me nervous because they can carry away small pets! (not that we have any pets outside), I just worry about the others.

  6. inhope you are feeling better soon.

  7. Everyone around here has some sort of congestion and cough it seems. I have somehow escaped it so far but Hubby was really sick a couple of weeks ago for several days. Hope yours is short lived. Have a great week!

  8. Gosh, were so sorry you got sick!! We hope you feel better soon, What a beautiful photo of the hawk. We do not like how they kill other birds too.. its sad.
Poor little birdie that died,, he got too cold!

  9. I'm so sorry that you aren't feeling well ... hopefully it's "just" allergies and will pass quickly. We have lots of hawks in our neighborhood, but I don't know what kind.
