To all my Peeps out there, happy Tuesday; may your day be filled with sunshine, smiles and blue skies. To all those dealing with the blizzard in New England, we send you hugs and ask you to please be safe.  Loved seeing the Doves sunning themselves yesterday.  We do have temps that are dropping and will probably have snow on Saturday, but for now I'm loving our weather.
Yesterday I received my CTscan results and I'm pleased to say they were good.  Late yesterday afternoon, my Dr. called with my surgery date.  I will be going in on Monday, Feb. 9th; while I was hoping we wouldn't need to do a total hysterectomy, we still do.  I have been cautious to share here, but there may be someone out there going through this or having gone through it.  Having a major surgery at 62 isn't something I take lightly or is it something I would choose, but if it prevents me from dealing with something else in the future, I'm o.k. with it.  I will be in the hospital for 2-3 days and then the first two weeks of recovery are supposed to be hard.  All I know it that I'm glad there are pain pills that can help.  This has been such an interesting journey; one my sister walked 18 yrs ago.  I never thought I'd have to walk in the same path, but I know the Lord has a plan here-for my good.
I hope you have a good day!
Hugs,
Noreen

  5. I just know you are going to sail through this just fine. You take care of yourself and you are very healthy. You exercise daily and are in good shape. You will do great. And we will cover you in prayer! I will be waiting anxiously over here to hear that it went well and it's all behind you! Hugs!

  6. Oh, sweetie- I did this at 29 and its not easy. The first 6 hours after surgery are the worst, so when its happening, just remember it will not last forever. Get up and walk as soon as you can and walk as much as you can the first couple of days. The more you walk the less you will hurt. I had to take the first ones with all the poles and bags with me, and my steps were slow and shakey, but 24 hours made the most amazing difference. Keep a pillow with you for coughing and laughing and sneezing! Hold it tight! Do not drive until they say you can! (I was bad and almost cried)
I had surgery late Friday afternoon and came home on Monday morning. I had to wait for my bowel sounds to come back first. Came home with no pain meds- took 2 tylenol in the hospital the next day. Once I got up, I didn't need them. The morphine pump right after is a wonderful thing! You will need help wiping your butt the first time! Everyone does. You just can't twist around and we don't have gorilla arms. You can do this. Promise!

  9. I'm glad that there was "good" news in the CT Scans. It was nice to feel the warmth of the past few days but I'm ready to have winter return. You are so strong and fit that I bet that you'll do much better than the average patient. I am thinking of you.

  12. While any surgery isn't to be taken lightly and while 62 isn't technically young, I'm confident that you'll do fine. First of all, you're in good health overall and surgery/recovery now is improved over 18 years ago. Regardless, you're in my prayers, my friend.
