Good Morning to you; this just got me singing a song I sang to my daughters, in the morning, when they were growing up.  Firstly, I am so thankful for all your prayers, my friends-for my little guy Hunter.  As of this morning, he is back to his normal self, lifting his leg and not having any other issues.  I will talk to the vet today though and also get symptoms to look for in the future with bladder issues etc. Bichons have several issues they are prone to and I don't want to be caught off guard.  This pic was taken last night while he was on my lap cuddled up.  I'm not sure he liked it when I grabbed my phone,  but I figure I've been slacking off in posting photos.  Yesterday, late afternoon, I ran over to my church and helped with Samaritan's Purse-Operation Christmas Child.  I had never done this before and hadn't even heard of this program until this year, but it was wonderful just to lend my hands.  I have done several other ministry related Christmas outreaches before, but what I like about this particular program is that everyone can easily fill a shoe box; in fact you can do it instead of going out to lunch one day.  For those of us retired and on a fixed income, this is doable.  I love to know that children might just have a brighter Christmas because of my small effort.  Even my daughters children are getting involved-yippee!  This organization was started by Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham and if my figures are correct they have given away(as of last year)one hundred million boxes around the world.  So today, I am so thankful for this organization. I am thankful for all those who donate these boxes in order for a child to have a Christmas present.
I am thankful that my husband successfully got one moving truck packed and a good amount of his brothers belongings moved to his home. I'm not sure if they are going to try to get another truck load  or not.  I am thankful that my hubby has a heart of gold and is willing to go help his brother.  Since I don't like being home alone, more than a day, I am thankful for our little Hunter who keeps me company.  I am thankful for the unconditional love of dogs and that even from a young age, I had such a passion for dogs.
I hope you have a wonderful, thankful day!
Noreen & Hunter

  1. So glad Hunter is feeling better. My Schatie may need to make a quick trip to the vet because of an ear infection...I'm treating it hoping we can rid the problem but if it doesn't look better by later today it's a trip to the vet.
We're doing Operation Christmas Child too...amazing how much you can get into a shoe box isn't it??
Did you see yesterday's post--Gracie's Gotcha day and there's still time to pop over and win a prize!!!
    Have a great wednesday.

  2. So glad you have Hunter and he keeps you company. That's what we do you know. And I bet Hunter is very good at making you feel good and loved. And we are so happy that he is doing better. I just knew he would. Have a beautiful day.

  3. I'm glad to read Hunter is. Improving and you're right about the love of dogs ! I was doing some voluntary work on the West coast of India and saw firsthand the children....some with no cloths on....they had so little! I'll always remember the excitement, turning cartwheels and singing when they got their boxes. Keep up the good work. Joan

  4. Woof! Woof! Good to hear HUNTER is okay. I'm sure Hunter is a great companion. Lots to be thankful. Happy Wednesday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  5. I'm so glad Hunter is doing better!
Dogs are such a blessing to us! I would be totally lost without mine!

  6. So glad Hunter is back to his normal self. Poor Stanley is much better today too. We do the Operation Christmas Child at our church too. Last year our boxes went to Mexico so we are wondering where they will go this time. Have a great day!

    Your Friends,

    Murphy & Stanley

  7. The antlers do not smell at all. They are very expensive but right now are on sale at PetSma*t for 20 percent off. They had the best selection too. If Hunter has manners at the pet stores he should have less temptation at Lowes. We found it to be a great experience, calmer than the pet stores and a good training opportunity.

  8. I'm sorry to read that your little boy wasn't feeling well, but am glad that he's better today--Don't they know how we worry about them?

I'm also glad you've had a good day!! Take care, and enjoy your evening!!

  9. I'm so glad that Hunter is feeling better! It's good to talk with your vet about bladder infections because (I have tons of experience with dog bladder infections) - they can spread to the kidneys pretty fast and become serious issues. K landed in the hospital with a kidney infection that had spread from her bladder.

In any case, I'm thrilled that your boy is feeling better!

  10. We do the shoebox thing, too...and so do our grandkids.

I am glad Hunter is better. It is always worrisome when they are not their usual selves. xo Diana

  11. Good thinking to use the trip to the vet as a chance to get some info so you will be able to know what to be concerned about and what not to. ;-)

T#2 is packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child with her American Heritage Girls group this afternoon.

Samaritan's Purse is my "go-to" organization when I want to make a monetary donation to help out in times of crisis (such as Superstorm Sandy, etc.). I have total confidence in that organization.

When does your hubby get back?
