Puppy Love

This weekend hubby and I joined some friends and went to a large AKC dog show in a neighboring city.
I've been to some really small dog obedience trials but nothing like this show.  Apparently it is rated in the top 10 in the country and we spent the morning looking at all sorts of breeds.  The two dogs above are Border Terriers and I took this photo for my brother and sil because they have a sweet little Border.
Before you worry that something has happened to our Reggie, he is hanging in there, defying all the odds; we are grateful for his continued pain free days.

This is one of the breeds I had considered at one point, isn't he just adorable.  Can't say I've seen too many puppies that aren't but we have decided Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers are just a little too much for us. I sure enjoyed holding him though and I think my hubby looks so cute with him.
Sunday was spent working on the window well issue and hubby finally got the plumbing worked out and installed; next step is getting the sump pump and hooking that up, filling in the wells with all the dirt and rock we took out and then we will have worry free rainy days.
I hope you had a productive weekend but also some giggles and smiles mixed in.
Blessings to you this Monday.
Noreen

  1. I would love to go to an AKC dog show. It would be interesting to see all the various breeds. When the day comes (praying it's many years yet) when we'll be looking to add another dog to our family, I'm almost sure it will be another golden retriever ... but at the same time, I'd like to consider a smaller dog, one who could travel with us.

I'm so glad to hear that Reggie continues to do well. Praying that he'll have a lot more good days ahead.

  3. You can't look at a puppy and not feel happy. They are just so adorable! We have a Golden Retriever named Ally and she thinks she is a lap dog although no one in the family has a lap big enough for her. Glad you had a good weekend!!

  5. This is my kinda way to spend a weekend!! You know, Charlie is a Soft Coated Wheaten....He can be a little intense, but they are supposed to be the most 'easy going' of the terrier breeds. Being our first terrier, I didn't believe it, now living with a Scottie, I do. :-))) But you'll know your next family member when you meet them--Take your time, just as your doing and see where the road leads!!

    Enjoy your day!!

PS: I'm so glad that Reggie is doing well!!!

  8. Hi, Noreen! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I always have a smile on my face when I see a comment from you. ;-)

Italian beef is a beef roast cooked in Italian flavored au jus, shredded and served sandwich-style with the au jus. Here's the recipe that I use. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/slow-cooker-italian-beef-for-sandwiches/detail.aspx (although I usually only use 2 1/2 lbs. of beef because it's just the 2 of us, and I usually use chuck roast because it's more tender and less expensive than rump roast ... I usually trim it a little more so it's not too fatty).

And yes, OBX is the Outer Banks. Our alternate destination is Galveston. We found a hotel that's well within our budget (not always easy to do these days, but we're retired and on a fixed income so we definitely have a very strict travel budget - we don't have high standards [well, other than cleanliness and safety] for our lodging, so if we look hard enough, we can usually find something nice enough in our budget ... it helps that we travel in the off-season). It looks so promising that if we are able to visit the Outer Banks as originally planned, we'll make Galveston a destination for next year. ;-)

    Have a nice evening!

  9. My sister-in-law used to show her dogs....she had
char pei's (sp?) Those shows are fun to watch and I always loved seeing all the different breeds! Isn't God just amazing how many dogs there are!! How very different from one another that they look but for the most part act the same LOL

Sounds like a nice and productive weekend!

Would you mind praying for my Jenna. She is struggling with her adjustment to college and dealing with some fear! Thank you Noreen! You are a mighty warrior and I am ever so thankful for you!

    Love you!

    I love pelicans (o:
Those peaches look great. Lots of work, I have done it before.
Kansas has things like that hedge ball... I was so amazed at the stuff that grew there that I had never seen before I went to college there.
I read Beverly Lewis's books about the Amish life. She is more or less the first to write them...now there are tons.
I can't believe how much and far you ride the bike. Good for you!
