From My Bookshelf

Happy Monday Friends,  You all know my mind has been on dogs lately and blogville lost another one of our canine friends this last Sat.  My friend, Kim at Life at Golden Pines, lost her precious golden Rudi.  Heart felt sympathy was sent her way this weekend; it is so difficult to face the end of days with a beloved pet.
This last week I read Betty & Tom's book, which has been out for many years and it was so touching; had me in the first chapter.  I have long known that Betty White is an animal lover and advocate and supports so many worthwhile organizations but this shed a new light on her home and her dogs.  If you are in the need of a good read, check this book out.
We had a relaxed weekend and even found time for a ten mile bike ride yesterday; the weather was perfect and we so enjoyed ourselves.  I'm hoping to get in another sometime this week.
Have a productive day today and remember to grab life with gusto for it passes us by too quickly.
Hugs,  Noreen

  1. Will definitely pick up the book for winter reading. I've seen Tom Sullivan perform many times. Both he and Betty White are favorites of mine when it comes to members of the human race☺.

  2. Loosing a precious animal friend is so very hard. I have lost two that have meant the world to me and they still hold a very special place in my heart and thoughts......

I haven't read this book but it sounds like one I want to get and read.......I've always heard she loves her animals and animals in general.

How is Reggie doing? I know your heart strings are being pulled...

I hope you have a wonderful week and get in another bike ride. It sounds like you and your hubby enjoy them so much....

    Take care dear friend,

  3. Good morning! Sorry to hear about your friends pet...soo hard. A LONG bike ride indeed...good for you. Hope you have a WONDERFUL day...I've lots to do so I will be a busy bee. HUGS!

  4. Good for you NanNor, That book sounds great, I may invest in one myself, hope you have a very blessed day. Hugs

  5. I have not read that book...looks interesting. Our miniature schnauzer Levi is nearly 12 and we enjoy his company so much! Pets are a blessing from God that's for sure.

  6. I just have to find time somehow for a bike ride! I have missed it, but probably will only manage one time around the neighborhood with my schedule!!

You go girl!! Sounds like a lovely time!

So sorry to hear of your friend's loss. It's never an easy thing to deal with.

    Love you bunches, sweet Nor!

  7. I'm definitely going to add that book to my "to read" list.

Good for you to get out on your bikes. It's cooled off here, and I'm hoping to be able to get back on our bikes again this week.

Hope you had a great day today!

  8. So sorry to hear about your friends dog and the problems your dog is having. I haven't had much time to read blogs lately and have enjoyed catching up. I have made numerous trips to Loveland the past month and love the corn fields and the sunflower fields I pass. I have always loved the sculpture park and the grandma in the shade is one of my favorite.
