It's Friday and I'd swear we were back in northern California. It rained and snowed all yesterday and today is raining as well, not the torrential downpour but a soft gentle rain. I am more than happy to send it all back to California, because of their drought. I just wish they would keep this particular storm pattern to themselves and fill their reservoirs. Our family and friends are having to let lawns die and conserve as much as possible. While the rain here will green up our lawns and plants, they are in need of it more than we are.
We had a very quiet day yesterday and today will probably be the same. We had dinner with our friends last night and it was so nice. The hubby of my girlfriend spent a lot of time in Ireland, since his parents were born there. We pulled out our map and itinerary and told him where we were going. We did get some great recommendations from him.
The closer it gets the more excited we are!
Today, hubby and I will go to the movies and then come home and cook a Corned Beef for dinner.
I'm hoping to get more quilting done today.
Whatever you do, I hope you have a great day today and a marvelous weekend.
Joy to you!
Noreen

Yes, we would treasure rain here. You will enjoy Ireland; my husband and I visited Dublin briefly to see all the James Joyce spots.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day/weekend there for you, Noreen. I have three grandgirls coming for the weekend with the addition of CJK on Saturday night for the night.
ReplyDeleteYou will LOVE Ireland...I bet you just can't wait to go- xo Diana
Happy holiday planning and it won't be long and hope the movie and crowned beef all go well. Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I'm getting excited for your trip as well! Can't wait to see photos :) You will have a wonderful time! May your weekend be filled with loving moments and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteSo neat to hear about your upcoming trip. I know you are going to love it. Hugs
ReplyDeleteYour Friday sounds just perfect! I can only imagine the excitement of your upcoming trip to Ireland! looking forward to you sharing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend,
Sue
Noreen, That is an exciting trip. I would love to go to Ireland at least once. Hope your weekend is dry. I know what you are saying about the draught states.wish they could have had some of Boston's snow this year. Blessings to you and your hubby, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Noreen, Sorry to hear about all the snow in Estes. When we spend time there, we think it's paradise! Of course, we only go in summer or early fall. We stay at the Woodlands on Fall River and love it so. I can do without snow in April though. Praying for rain in CA and also Kenya. We in Iowa are 3" below normal for this year but really we are ok and I am so grateful. We have 4 rain barrels which allow us to collect 220 gallons of rainwater from just a 1/2" rainfall! Love it, and we use it to water the garden and add water to the pond. :)
ReplyDeleteThe weather is crazy everywhere, it seems. How exciting to be going to Ireland! When is it?
ReplyDeleteOh Lucky you, wow you get to travel to Ireland. It is quite warm here in the south, and Mommy is putting the ac on at night.
ReplyDeleteI hope your Friday was as delightful as it sounded.
ReplyDeleteWe were thrilled to get the rain over her on our side of the CO/KS state line! We need rain badly - not as badly as CA, but we're in drought. It's awfully hard for the farmers and ranchers.

I must admit that although I don't love having a few feet of wet snow on the ground, it is helping what was already a scary fire season. We'd had 2 red flag warning days even before this snow! I'm rooting for another foot up here. Perhaps you could send your precipitation up to us?
ReplyDeleteI actually like snow more than rain, so I'm sorry that you've had these dreary days.
I hope you're having a great weekend.
Hi Noreen! What movie did you see? It's been so long since I've gotten out, I have no idea what's even out there. Your Friday sounded so peaceful, I'm a little envious.
ReplyDeleteToday, it's raining again. We had a lot of rain yesterday too. My sister lives in Calif. so I always think of sending her this rain, just like you do. So scary to think of the history making droughts.
Praying for a more sunny week for you,
Ceil
