Happy Monday

Hello Peeps~I hope you had as nice a weekend as I did.  We are glad that the Ravens and the 49ers will be playing each other; it will be fun to see the two brothers on the sidelines coaching. Glad I'm not that Mom, cheering them both but knowing only one can win.
Do you all remember these fun glasses I got last March, when I was turning 60?  They were so different from anything I have ever had; however when you add a new pup to your home and leave them within his sight, they get chewed up.  Thankfully, when I got them I also got insurance to have them replaced within one year.  So I've made due with them and also a pair of "dress glasses" for when we got out to dinner.  As much as I loved these when I got them, I was ready for a change.  I always struggle with glasses, hair cuts etc., knowing what looks good on me. This morning my oldest, Carrie, met me at Pearl Vision to help me pick out a new pair.  Unfortunately, this pair was no longer available but I found a pair that I think looks good on me; Carrie agreed they are really cute.  They aren't bright like these were but black and fit my face nicely.  By the end of next week I will have them; the cost was a mere $40. total for a pair of $500. glasses; I will always get insurance on eye wear now.
I'm about ready to head out and walk Hunter, by ourselves today; you can be sure we will be practicing on those commands he didn't follow through with on Saturday.  Many friends, here and in blogland says this is a common Bichon trait.  However it seems there are many of us out there struggling to teach our pups how to obey immediately.  So glad Hunter is so cute(even when he is shaggy)because that helps keep my patience in tact.  This Wednesday, it is predicted to get into the high 60's-wow is all I can say.  Spring fever is here already and we have at least 3 more months. If we don't get anymore snow, it will be fine with me.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and that your week is starting off well.

  1. Ohhhh Noreen, those glasses are absolutely *darling* on you!! I love them... the color, the shape, everything!! Very very nice!!

Enjoy your warm weather. I had to chuckle as I read what the temp is there.... it's 11 above right now, here, and it's 2pm. It's not going to get any warmer than this, I'm afraid, and only dip further down once nightfall hits. Please pray for all the little stray critters outside in these parts... it's awful cold going for them.

On a bright note, I rescued a stray kitty last Thursday evening who had been coming around our land for a few days. I got her just in time, before the cold set in. I'm so glad. I passed her along (with a check!) down my rescue friends chain-of-command and she's in a nice safe indoor foster home, where she will remain... never again to have to worry about the cold or going hungry. One victory is better than none... that's what we who do rescue have to keep telling ourselves, eh?

Have a beautiful rest of the day!

  2. Oh MOM is not a fan of picking out new glasses. She has some of her old ones hanging around and wonders why on earth did she pick that style. hahhaha. You reminded her that is is time again to get a check up. She is hoping that there is no more damage to her eyes. Last time she had tiny aneurysm behind her eyes (well one more sever than the other). But they fixed them up so they did not rupture. Enjoy your warmer weather. We are still in the deep freeze. Our high today is 17. And that's how it is going to be for a while. And we still have a lot of snow. But at least it will bring a beautiful spring and fill out the lakes and ponds.
    Blessings,
    Goose

  3. Hope you and Hunter had a good day. I have difficulty choosing eye wear too. The new styles seems big to me. When I go to hug people, I bump them with my glasses! Hope you enjoy the pleasant sounding weather.

I look forward to seeing your new specks! Sounds like insurance is the only way to go with glasses.

  7. Oh I really like the glasses you are sporting here! Soo cute on you. I will be anxious to see the new ones. Isn't wonderful to have daughters to help us with style? And who will tell us honestly what looks good, and what does not, haha. I haven't had Mel help me in a while choosing a new outfit, I miss it! Enjoy your nice warm weather, I sure am too! HUGS

  11. Great glasses!
I don't enjoy shopping for new glasses and have anxiety about the prescription turning out. With the history I have.....it is a adventure that I don't like taking. This last go round turned out alright. Happy about that.
Glad your glasses turned out well. That is great.

  13. I also dread picking new frames, but have always been lucky to have a friend who works where I get mine and she is so helpful! I am so glad you are having nice weather, it is a little cold here but no snow, thanks goodness. LOL. As you can tell I am not a big fan of snow. Thanks for the heads up on glass insurance!
Enjoy your walks with Hunter, we are so enjoying our new dog, Jack.

  15. Mom used to wear glasses but then got a thing called LASIK. Now she only wears them to read. She continues to be jealous for your weather. We had to drive to park City for warm weather!

    Keep Calm & Bark On!
