A Little of This & A Little of That

Posted by Picasa
Happy Tuesday friends~Well the snow arrived yesterday afternoon, light and pretty.  It melted as soon as it hit the ground and we didn't even have any on the lawn when we went to bed.  It is still a minimal amount; hubby was able to shovel the driveway and sidewalk in record time this morning. It will be interesting to see if we get any more today.  I doubt we'll get hammered like our friends in Ogden but it is nice, especially since I can stay inside today.
This morning I sound like a cross between a frog and Marlene Dietrick(a boss I once had said she thought it sounded sexy-lol).  Whenever I get a cold or allergies it hits my throat hard and I end up barely being able to talk.  I think this all started with allergies because I haven't had any other symptoms(except for the boil a week ago).  I am very thankful that I can just stay inside today; I have a new free e-book, on our IPad Mini, that I am enjoying and I do hope to get my sewing machine down here today.  To be totally honest, the last two days I'm taken a little nap in the afternoon-hoping to kick this bug to the curb.  I'm really wanting to be over it quickly as I've got a friend's mom(in her 80's)that I am supposed to take to our study on Thursday.  If I'm still feeling under it tomorrow, I will have to arrange another ride for her-I just don't want to chance spreading germs to her.
On another note, today is the anniversary of my mom's death-38 yrs ago today we said goodbye.  This week she has been in my thoughts so much; I think after seeing the step dancing and jigs last week, it brought back memories of her. I think I get my love of dancing from my mom while the love of song from my dad.
Since I have nothing pressing on my schedule today, I do hope to get by and say hello to each of you.  I will say though, that some days it is just so difficult to get to everyone.
Blessings, Noreen & Hunter

  3. All you got was a little!! Holy dogs and cats it is still snowing here. MOM and I just got back in from shoveling another 10 inches and it is still coming down. They say it will stop on Thursday for a couple of days. It has gotten so deep now that even I, Goose, and finding it hard to go outside and, well you know. Most places it is PAST my belly and beyond. But as I said we will have a beautiful Spring. MOM got her seed catalog in the mail today, so it can't be far off. Speaking of mail, the mail box has about 10 to 12 inches to go and it will be completely covered. You rest up and nap with handsome Hunter and get better. You are in our prayers. :)
    Blessings,
    Goose

  5. Noreen- Oh- My throat is just like that, too. Everything settles and racks my voice. I hope you get a good day of rest.

Your Mom has been gone a long time. It's amazing how quickly the years pile up, isn't it? I am sure your heart ache is just a little deeper today- xo Diana

  8. I am sorry you lost your mother, and such a long time ago. Sorry she didn't have a chance to meet her grandchildren and great grandchildren. My dad never met his grandchildren either. So sad. I'm glad, though, that we have hope beyond this life!
    Hugs and blessings, Beth

  9. That snow stuck up here, and made the whole world sparkle again, although it is very cold. Kick that bug! there's been some terrible stuff going around this winter.

So sorry about the anniversary of your mom's death. I guess that it never gets easier... The one thing that everyone points out to me is that my mom lives on in me. I'm sure that the same is true for you.

  10. We got rain, no snow. I guess you didn't get enough to send my way - ha!

I sure hope you're feeling better SOON. I have nothing on my agenda for today, so I hope to be able to stay inside and try to get over this bronchitis.

    My mom has been gone for 6 years ... I don't think we ever completely get over the loss of our moms, do we? {{hug}}

  11. Hi Noreen! I've been trying to catch up on blogs and I'm slowly but surely getting there... Gee whiz... you've had a lot going on since I've been here last. Hunter looked adorable before his grooming! I love that shaggy look. He looks adorable still!! So you went to dinner theatre to see Molly Brown? Was it a good play? I've often wondered about that. I love going to dinner theatres. We sometimes go to Dutch Apple in Lancaster. Well, I'm sorry to hear you are a bit under the weather. Hope you feel better soon!!

  12. Hi there Noreen,
I always marvel at any white winter wonderland...since we don't see such spectacles here. Beautiful!
So sorry that you are under the weather. Get well soon, dear friend.
Thinking of you at this reflective time. We will always remember (and celebrate) our mothers.
