Happy Monday to you!  A new week, a new year, many new possibilities, so much to look forward to.  It is time to get back into a regular routine/schedule and continue on in daily pursuits; for me this means exercise, writing, dog training and sewing.  Of course, first and foremost on my list is taking care of the love of my life and keeping our home.  Many bloggers have a word for the new year, one to focus on and remember throughout the months.  This year my word is Rejoice.  Already, it has come to represent the birth of another grand; our oldest daughter, Carrie, is expecting number six in early June.  We are beyond thrilled for their family as well as the rest of us.  We are looking forward to this new bundle to love on; the poll seems out of what she will have-many want a little boy,a bookend for their family and a playmate for our Kim's baby boy, who is now 3 and a half mos old.  Carrie and her hubby are not finding out the sex, which means I won't start a quilt until the baby is born; however I do have adorable baby girl fabric that I will use should they have a girl.
I will also start looking for boy fabric, but after organizing my stash last week I can honestly say I don't want to buy any more fabric unless I really have to.  I hope to get sewing on the quilt I started in the fall; working on the border so I can get the top finished and begin sandwiching it.
I enjoyed watching the games yesterday and look forward to playoffs next weekend.
I hope you had a great weekend and are starting today out on a good note.
Joy to you~

  2. None of my kids wanted to know what they were having either- I think that is great in this day and age of knowledge- it was a surprise for every single one of them (10 grandkids). I am sorting my fabric, too, and I am with you- NO MORE fabric until I use up some of what I have- xo Diana

  3. I love your word for the year too and it certainly describes the reaction to a new baby in the family....I am so happy for you.....

Yes, it is time to get back to a schedule and I find I am resisting alittle.....but never the less it's time...lists made and duties awake....

  4. Oh I LOVE that word....that's been my heart attitude with arms raised upward towards Him for years. I think the word around here is PURGE. Hubby wants to sell the house and move to the city so I am focusing on room by room purging. I've had a word some years...but not this year. But trying to focus on giving thanks in all things. You are so blessed with all your babies. Joy right back at ya!!!!

  7. Rejoice is a GREAT word. I like it. MOM's very good freind is about to have a baby any moment now (Little "L" will have a bro or sis). MOM's friend, just like with "L" did not find out what gender until he was born and that is how it will be with this child. I think that is so cool drool.

  10. Rejoice ... wonderful word for your year.

As excited as I am about our trip, it's interfered with getting back to normal ... I spent the last week, planning and preparing for our trip ... and of course, there will be no normal for the next couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to getting back to normal when we return ... but not too much ... don't want to wish the next 2 weeks away. ;-)

  11. Rejoice, a wonderful word for the new year, I already seeing you are putting it to good use, as you rejoice in your new year. Congratulations on all of the new grand babies, both present and to come. I like the idea of not knowing if it is a boy or girl, it just increases the excitement!
    Blessings,
    Sue
