Spring Is Back

Happy Wednesday friends,  For the last two days it has felt like we were back in winter~we had rain and snow and the temp. dropped 30 degrees. Today dawned bright and sunny; I've walked already and actually got hot.  Oh it feels so good to have the warmer temps again.  I've finished writing all my thank you cards and now just have to work on cleaning my sewing room and looking at what needs to be done the rest of the week in preparation for Easter lunch here.  I have to say that our house sounds so hollow and empty without the pitter-patter of paws and yesterday I was really missing our Reggie.  I'm trying not to be anxious /obsessed with hunting for a new furbaby; I know that will happen when we get back from vacation.  We have always rescued dogs and as much as I've/we've loved each one, rescues often carry baggage with them.  Having nine grands around on a regular basis can complicate matters so this time we are thinking about a puppy-call me crazy! The only stipulation that hubby has made is that it not shed-so poodles, poodle-mixes, mini schnauzers are the main breeds we are looking at.  O.k. we aren't looking, I am-hubby always leaves the search up to me.  I did find a poodle rescue online yesterday that seemed to fit all the criteria and was pretty darn cute.  Being that we will be gone for two weeks, I'm not contacting anyone yet and waiting to see which doors are open when we return.  It will be so interesting to see what we end up with; a new adventure; of course you all know that I'm praying(and have been)over our next pup.
I hope you have a joy filled day today and cherish every moment of this life!
Hugs, Noreen

  1. Hi, I have had a couple of poodles and just love them to bits. They are so bright and clever..and LOYAL! Good choice! The only thing I would say is that, though they don't shed fur they have to be clipped quite often so you need to know that there is someone near who can do it for you. I bought a clipper and tried my best and got the 'professional' to do it 'properly' every so often.
But..as a pet...the best! If my husband 'goes' before me I am pretty sure that I will have another! Love and blessings. Joan

  5. With hubby's surgery I've been out of the loop for a bit. I need to go back and read some of your other posts. I'm so excited to see what new puppy finds a new home with you guys. Have a fun vacation wherever you are going! We've gone from AC to thinking about the furnace again. No snow thankfully.

Although my husband may tell you a different story LOL We planted some trees this past weekend and went outside to throw the dogs (we also have a boxer- Maggie who is 1 yr old) their ball and would you believe they dug up not just one tree but TWO of them.....Oh my !! My honey was NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! not at all!!!

Our temps cooled off too but warm air will return soon !
    Love & Hugs!

  7. I can't wait to see what kind of pup you get. I'm not sure what we'll get (I'm leaning toward a golden retriever, but DH says "too much hair"), but if we do get another dog, I do know that it will be a rescue ... and not a puppy.

  8. Puppy's are hard work but so worth it in the long run. (Usually)
It is not hard to house brake a puppy. I do it in a day!!! I pay them all my attention that day!!!
I do nothing else. They go out every time they look like they are thinking about going!! When they go out side I make a big fuss over them for a good while, they were so go!!! I love them and praise them big time. If they go in the house they get scolded a bunch. It only takes me one day!! Happy Easter!!!

  9. Hi Noreen!! I know what you mean about the house seeming to be empty--Even with our large crew, we have the same thing. Each one is truly a part of the rhythm of the household. I can promise you when you meet your new addition, you'll just know and the time will be perfect!!

I hope the weather warms up for both of us!! I'm cold this morning! :-)
