It is so hard to believe our sweet little Peanut is five today; it is really embarrassing that we left our zip drive at home with all our photos and this was the latest one, from Christmas, I could find on hubby's laptop.
This was taken at the Christmas Program and her sister, Miss D, is in the background. Our Peanut has overcome a lot of challenges in her five years; from five months on she battled severe GERD and was in Children's Hospital twice. Along with the GERD, she had other challenges as well and the doctors could not remedy her physical problems. Thankfully, our daughter and sil found a holistic M.D. who found the root problem to be food sensitivities, including gluten. This has made a world of difference in her life and although she still suffers with some of the problems, to us it is a miracle that she has come so far. She is a bright child, gifted in art and math and a joy to all who love her. When a child struggles to grow and thrive, it touches your heart in a very special way. We celebrated her birthday before we left but I'm sure her family will do something special for her day. I can't wait to see what her future holds; one thing for sure is that she will have a strong temperament-a child with such a serious illness, early on, develops a tenacity and strong character.
Happy Birthday baby girl; we love you!

Hi Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little face. Happy Birthday to your Peanut. Isn't that little smile just priceless.
Thank you for sharing sweet friend. Our little Kain Boy will be 5 tomorrow.
Many hugs and much love, Sherry
What a beautiful little grandgirlie you have! May she have a wonderful birthday and keep right on celebrating all April long.
ReplyDeleteOh~Noreen- What a beautiful little girl. As much as you love all your grandchildren you have a special spot in your heart for those that have overcome struggles. Your little Peanut is a special child..one that God has set apart for something special. Our little SweetCheeks was a pretty sick little girl when she was born 5 years ago, too. She was in NICU for 15 days and left at just under 5 pounds. Today she is healthy and strong and smart...and what a blessing those children are. Blessings and Happy Birthday to your girl. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Peanut! She is adorable as are all of your grandchildren. Mom says it is so much fun to have grandpeeps.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful trip.

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of the rough journey Peanut has endured in her five years but thankful that the docs have finally figured a way to help her with food sensitivities. I'm praying that what she's been through is a thing of the past and she grows healthy and whole in everyway!
Also, so glad to get reconnected with you! I was MIA for about six months (much needed) and recently got my blog grove back and looking forward to reconnecting with everyone.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Blessings!
Jackie

ReplyDeleteShe's adorable!
Wishing dear Peanut a very Happy Birthday, Noreen, I do indeed remember the challenges that she has faced, and you are so right about challenges making for strong personalities, we went through similar digestive problems with one of our granddaughters, and she is very strong after overcoming them. God has wonderful plans for our precious ones, plans for His glory !
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are enjoying your vacation, please bring back lots of photos to share.
Hugs,
Sue
What a wonderful story of perserverance. you are right...when a child has battled so much to grow and to attain I am sure that sets them up for later life!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday indeed!
How sweet! We have a "peanut" in our family, too; although he doesn't have the same challenges. I'm so sorry your wee one has had such a battle at so young an age.
ReplyDeleteWhat joy to celebrate such a milestone. 5 is, as the wee ones will tell us, qutie grown up.
Blessings,
Kathleen
She is precious..and I am so glad the Lord lead the way for healing, what a hard time for the parents
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to the adorable sweet Peanut..
ReplyDeleteAloha! I loved your photo's of Kauai's sunset and sunrise..I can't wait to fly away to Kauai, just a few more weeks and I'll be there..
My legs swell too, I only drink water on the plane and I try to put my feet up on my bag that is suppose to be under the seat :)
I am really short so my feet do not touch the floor so this makes them swell also.
Have a sweet day and big hugs, Elizabeth
Hi Noreen,
ReplyDeleteWow, she is such a cutie and I remember when she was having those problems, and so glad to see the Lord answered all those prayers in her behalf. I am sure she will be all the stronger for it, but hope her future will be physically less challenging for her.
Happy Birthday peanut,
blessings Galore,
Nellie
