The Tastes of New England

Good Afternoon to you! As you know, when traveling to an area that is new and exciting, part of the adventure is the food. While this was our 3rd trip to New England, we were still anxious to get back and enjoy some seafood. We enjoyed some really good meals at nice restaurants, some really good meals at little diners and also some meals at places we would not go back to- for reasons of sanitary concerns. I'm choosing to share the great meals with you. Here we are in Bar Harbor, ME; I can't recall the name of the restaurant-but suffice to say it was excellent.  Hubby loved the Lobster Roll and I enjoyed Ahi.
Here is a dinner we had in Booth Bay; it was so good-I had the poached salmon while hubby enjoyed a burger.

I ate salads a good part of the trip, both for lunch and dinner; I did splurge on a couple of dinners-such a treat.  I wish I would have chosen to have the lobster roll on lettuce, because by the time I figured that out I didn't see it offered and was so disappointed.  We also enjoyed some blueberry pie and desserts-but I didn't partake of the crust.  Saturday night we went out to dinner-I know what you are thinking-that we just got home from a trip, but hubby insisted and the bottom two dishes are what we had.  Hubby enjoyed a Fried Cod with lump crab meat on it, while I had Scallops and Prawns-one of my favorites.
We are still trying to organize our photos of the trip and hope to get them up tomorrow and Wednesday.  I came home ready to just stay home and sew, but our days are getting busy.  This morning hubby had a doctor appointment with a back specialist(good news was that he was just referred to a Physical Therapist), then ran to the Sprint store to get him  a new phone-didn't wait because of the long line, then came home and changed for the gym.  We had a good workout and I'm hoping to walk with one of my gals later.  Yesterday I had planned to sew all day, but got caught up on the computer watching all the new info on the fires in Santa Rosa and catching up on blogs.
I hope you had a great weekend and a good day so far.
Blessings to you!
Noreen

  2. Nothing can compare to New England fish - that's what Mom says. She says this area is tough for finding good fish. A few restaurants fly it in daily but the grocery stores are not good.

We are excited to see your photos.

  4. Looks like you guys really enjoyed the fresh New England Seafood! I have lived here my entire life, and it is wasted on me - I don't eat seafood! My family loves it, and can't understand my aversion. For me it's partly the texture of seafood, and I also don't care for the strong fishy taste.

Did you have a wonderful trip?
