Linkedin

Happy Tuesday to you!  It is a beautiful morning and I'm getting ready to walk and then bike ride.  I'm also thinking of those in Ca.(other states too)who are impacted by the latest wildfires.  I've been told, that the smoke from the Rim fire near Yosemite, is heavy in the Lake Tahoe region.  We will be heading out to California next month; I certainly hope it is over by then.  I feel for those who have lost their homes; here, we are getting ready to have new fencing installed today(we have plastic fences and the hail just trashes them) and I can hear roofers on the street-but it is nothing compared to losing ones home.
O.k. so I also have a question for you all; do you belong to Linkedin?  I am always getting invites and I'm not employed outside the home anymore, so don't feel that this network is important for me.  In fact, I'm sure it is just another site where people can connect; I really don't need another site to have to check in on.  What about you?  Do you belong and why did you join?  I've seen some reviews that show some people have a hard time maneuvering around it.  Is there any benefit to joining if you aren't working?  I keep ignoring my friends requests but don't want to miss something good.  So let me know your thoughts.
Have a great day!

  1. Those fires are awful. I hope they are contained very soon.
I get a lot of invites to Link too. Don't have any interest in it.
    Enjoy your walk, and ride!!

  2. Good morning! Yes, those fires are soo bad! I feel soo bad for them all. Hopefully, they are contained soon. I do not belong to Link, however my hubby does so I asked him for you. He said, it is primarily good for people looking for jobs or those who just want to keep their work information in front of the right people who might be interested in hiring them etc., finding customers and clients in their fields, or keeping in touch with business associates. So he doubted a retired woman would find much there, unless you are looking to hook back up for some reason with people you did business with in the past. Needless to say, it is not for me, haha, considering I never really worked outside the home. I am lucky if I work Facebook, instragram, e-mail, and blogging. Soo many choices anymore. Enjoy your day Noreen!

  3. Our prayers to those near these terrible wildfires....

We don't belong to any of the networking sites. I get invites too but not really interested in finding people from the "past". Or whatever these social networks are for.

  4. Yes, I kept getting invitations and then joined....then there were more...along the lines ' do you know....?' I did tick a couple but haven't bothered any more. Now I keep getting told who those people I said yes to have linked with. Perhaps I, too, am missing something but it seems very like Facebook to me ( which is another I don't bother with any more). I keep getting pictures of people who are friends of....!! It's getting a bit much. I look forward to seeing others answeres! Joan

  6. This is something Brent uses for work. I don't think you need to worry about it. :)

  7. I've gotten invites, as well. Like you, I don't work outside the home any more, so I don't feel like it's "my" thing.
