Tuesday Nuggets

Good Morning to you~ Today it would seem I am having a relaxed day at home and that is fine with me.
We were supposed to have sunshine and temps in the 80's which is better than yesterdays cold front that moved through; reminded us of winter.  However, although the day started out bright and sunny, the clouds have moved in and it is windy again and getting cooler; girls I am so ready for summer weather!
As I read my devotional this morning it struck a cord with me and I hope you also hear the Lord's voice in it.

From Sarah Young, "Jesus Calling" for June 21st:
"Wait patiently with Me while I bless you.  Don't rush into My Presence with time-consciousness gnawing at your mind.  I dwell in timelessness: I am, I was, I will always be. For you, time is a protection; you're a frail creature who can handle only twenty-four-hour segments of life.  Time can also be a tyrant, ticking away relentlessly in your mind.  Learn to master time, or it will be your master.
Though you are a time-bound creature, seek to meet Me in timelessness.  As you focus on My Presence, the demands of time and tasks will diminish.  I will bless you and keep you, making My face shine upon you graciously, giving you Peace."
I'm not sure if any one else struggles with issues of time and schedules but I sure do.  In fact, I think this is something the Lord is desiring to really purge me of this summer.  I am always aware of the time and what I should be doing or where I should be going.  You probably all have friends that are punctual-who arrive early or right on time, not a minute late-well that is me.  I've become so tied up in time that I often miss blessings along the way.  So I am trying to relax and let things happen and not worry about the clock.
Can you relate?
Until He comes,  Noreen

  2. Oh Noreen, Can I relate....sometimes I feel as though I am on a treadmill just marking off one thing after the other that I need to do......I fight this feeling alot......

I Sarah Young's books and this post was particularly aimed at me.....I try hard not to go into God's presence with a timetable but I know that clock is ticking....Maybe you're right, maybe this is the summer for both of us to "stop and smell the roses".....

By the way, I cannot identify with your cold weather...it' 100 degrees here in N.C. today and has been hot for the last few....I wish I could send you some heat..hahahahah

I am so enjoying getting to know you.....

  3. Oh Noreen is this ever me! But again, as a kindred spirit why am I not surprised? haha One of the hardest things I have had to do with this is to do my very best not to press this unto others in my life. Seems like I was always telling my kids, "Hurry, do this, do that, there is sooo much to do!" How I wish now I hadn't done so much of that. With my hubby now I do my best not to make my problem, his, haha....This was a great devotional. I have made a couple of the stuffed animals so far this week. sooo cute, but way to "fiddly" for me, lol. Hope you had a wonderful day. It is nice and warm here...in fact, maybe a little too warm, sigh...I prefer the cool weather myself. Love you! Debbbie

  5. I read that devotion this morning and it really spoke to me! I just love that book and the way God speaks to me every day through it!

I have so much time right now with Melissa in boston and Megan and her family in Pennsylvania. It's just my baby girl and her 2 boys! God has been gracious and calmed my heart and enabled me to spend lots of good study time with Him!

  6. I just LOVE Jesus Calling! Speaks to me every single time! I would have to guess the majority of people are always "rushing". It is so sad that we are all so busy...But God knew ...He had to tell us to "Be Still" :)

I wish we could cool off here in OK. We have been just sooo hot! Truly, we went immediately into summer and the humidity makes it all the worse.

Hope your day was restful and relaxing!
    Love you
