Oh Happy Day, we should be thankful for each new day!
We had such a wonderful time up in the mountains this weekend; this was our first sighting of Elk, a bit sweeter because lately when we've gone up to the park, we haven't seen any.
This big guy and his friends were right across the street from our condo-isn't he magnificent?
Hey there big fella.
Love this guys face! We had a wonderful family time together; only eight of us were able to go snow shoeing but everyone did try; it is just too tough and cold for the littles. I've got photos of the gang for tomorrow. We had wonderful dinners and played lots of games in the evenings. Saturday evening the snow began to fall and it continued through last night; we headed home mid-morning yesterday, thankful we left early because the roads were pretty dicey. We found that our home had received 6-8" of new snow, so had to shovel immediately. I expected it would still be snowing this morning, but the sky is blue and the sun is out. Colorado got hit pretty bad with the latest storm; we sure need the moisture though. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and will have a spring in your step today & joy in your heart.

I loved seeing your photos. It always brings back great memories of our travels to Estes Park (we stay at The Woodlands, if you ever need a fantastic place to stay). Also in season (they close over the winter), I highly recommend The Sundeck restaurant for fresh trout.
ReplyDeleteWe also got 6" of snow and we expect more tomorrow. Have a wonderful week!

ReplyDeleteOh I am so looking forward to your snow showing pictures too. It is great you got to spend time with loved ones and to see the beautiful elk. I love them just shy of my love of Moose. both incredible creatures. cAn you imagine carrying that big antler around on your head through the winter, making your way through trees and forest terrain. What magnificence.

So glad you had such a fun weekend. I guess our daughter had about 9 inches where she lives. We just got 14 and now tonight we may get 20 more.....OY. But it is pretty when you're home and safe. I love the pictures of the elk scattered in the open...not hiding in the trees. Antlers are so fun!
ReplyDeletethe elk are beautiful. And I am so happy to hear that you and your family had a wonderful time. Sounds like a perfect weekend.
