Miscellany Monday

Happy Monday dear friends. I hope you had a fun packed weekend! We had high temps here and many fires throughout our state. The temps reached the 100's so on Saturday so hubby and I joined our oldest daughter's family at our local public pool for swimming. I can tell you it was such fun and a relief with the heat. In fact, yesterday afternoon hubby and I went on our own because it was so hot. Although the pool was crowded, it wasn't crazy and just felt good to hit the water.
Our yard is filled with baby birds and here is one I just happened to see.
Our sunset Saturday evening, through the smoke.
Smoke always makes the prettiest of sunsets but unfortunately many are without homes.  We did get rain last night and I'm hoping that it helped the fighters get a better handle on the fire.
Today, we've already been to watch grands at their swim lessons and visited a friend in her new home. I'm off now to babysit one group of grands; hubby and I are actually discussing going to a movie this afternoon, so we can stay out of the heat.
Have a great day!
Noreen

  1. Good morning! I loved catching up a bit here this morning with all that has been going on with you...nice you have a pool to use to cool off with. We haven't hit any 100 degree plus weather yet, but sure know it is coming. I loved all the pictures of your party. How nice it all was. And your girls are soo pretty, and sure look like their mama to me. How blessed you both had to have been by all they did for you. Enjoy your afternoon...a movie sound wonderous to me. HUGS

  3. Hi Noreen, I have been hearing about the fires in Colorado, and I was wondering how you were doing! We are praying that for those who have been affected by the fires.
We are heating up here too, a swim sounds so nice, but for now the outdoor shower will have to do. ~smile~
Read you post about the surprise party, What a wonderful sweet thing to do, loved all the photos, your family is beautiful, and you look fantastic.
    Hugs,

  4. It's hard to watch the devastation of the fires!

We are also loving the baby birds and their clumsy attempts to get food from our birdfeeders.

  5. For sure, if there are grands in the mix there is busy in the schedule.

I love your photos. Fire, like smog, does strange things with light prisms.

  6. It's hot this way too. High 90's. Of course it doesn't help with our fires either.
The little birdy is cute. Does Hunter chase little critters?
    Blessings,

  7. How lucky you are to have access to a pool to cool off in that hot weather. It's going to get over 100 here over the next 8-10 days ... how I wish I had access to a pool. ;-)

How I wish that you were "settling" for a "generic" sunset instead of spectacular ones because of the smoke from the fires.
