Good Morning Friends,  Today I am thankful that hubby and I found this elevated dog dish for our old  Reggie.  I had noticed that Reggie was having more and more difficulty bending over to get to his food in his old dish.  I had seen some really pretty elevated dishes in California(they were so pricey) but when I check several stores here they had wrought iron bases but were only lifted about an inch or so.  I knew that wouldn't help Reggie too much so we checked our local big-box pet store and found this dish set.  Although it is made of tough plastic, the dishes are stainless and while it isn't much on looks, it is about 6" off the ground.  As you can see, Reggie has a much easier time eating out of it. I'm thankful his legs aren't spread eagle like they were the other day!  It is tough enough getting older, but if I can make it easier on him that is great.
Yesterday, I went to the grocery store and got some OTC Dramamine for my vertigo.  I can tell you that it worked; I didn't have any dizziness last night and feel fine this morning. I had remembered that my doctor in Ca. had suggested trying this; I'm so thankful it was that easy.  For those of you that have this condition crop up, from time to time, give it a try.
Blessings on your day. Noreen and a very content Reggie

  3. Glad that the Dramamine worked! ;-)

So glad to see that Reggie continues to do well. Our Abby is showing more and more signs of "old age" ... we're watching her very closely ... praying for a clear sign when it's time. Watching our pups get old is so difficult.

  4. Hi! Noreen, hope this finds you feeling better, and sweet Reggie reminds me of my sweet Missy that got to where she could not stand,I never thought of a dog bowl like this! How neat! But anyway~ will do a blog soon~ alot been going on! But God is So Good! Have a great wk~end!!

  5. Hi Noreen!! I'm so glad that you're feeling better!! My co-worker has had problems with vertigo, so I know how difficult it can be to manage!! I'm also glad that you've found a way to make Reggie's mealtime is easier for him and he's doing well!! Enjoy the rest of your day!! Take care!!!

  6. Oh I love seeing Reggie so content!... that's a perfect place for him to eat, doggie kisses sweet Reggie!... xoxo Julie Marie and Tessy

  7. Noreen
Great that Reggie doesn't have to bend so far now.
And great it was so simple to get rid of your vertigo!
    Have a good weekend-Kimberly

  8. The raised bowls are great. Mom got one online for our old gal Angel Dakota when she was so sick. We use it now for water bowls for all of us.

Mom says thanks for the tip about Dramamine, she used it for our human sister when she was young and would get car sick.

  9. So glad Reggie is having an easier time eating.. I have 7 dogs and 4 of them are old.. My lhasa apso's.. One is a diabetic an the other three all have colitis..My diabetic is blind, partially deaf and has a hard time with her back legs.. The other 3 also have problems with their knees.. It's so hard to watch them get old but like you we try and do all we can to make it easier on them.. Great post :)

  10. So glad you found one of those dishes! We had them for our lab, Tucker. In fact, when cleaning the shed the other weekend, we came across it. Had I known, I could have sent it to you!!!
Glad your vertigo is better with the dramamine!!!
