Happy Thursday to you! For those who work outside the home, you have only one day left until a long weekend-yippee! My post is a bit late today because I'm a bit tired and not feeling quite as perky as normal. Our oldest and her family left for a weeks vacation this morning and my dear man got up around 3:30am to drive them to the airport.  I also got up and made sure hubby was up and ready for them.  After he got back he kicked back for a bit and then we took our daughter's van to their house and picked up their little dog.  She will be at the kennel for the week; I'd keep her but our dear Reggie doesn't tolerate her energy level very well.  I took her on a walk with my friend and her Aussie and then we let them play in our back yard; I'm hoping that she was worn out when she got to the kennel.  So this morning, I am very thankful that I am retired and can rest when I'm exhausted. I am thankful we live near our daughters and their families and can help out when they need it.  I am thankful that Lilly, our daughters dog, loves to be here with us and is so very social-both with dogs and people.  Tomorrow I have that "big" test that most 50 yr olds have and it means staying home today to do all the prep-drinking all sort of liquids and not eating.  I am thankful that I don't work and have to worry about doing all the prep while at a job.  I've put this test off for nine years now but finally giving in to the doctor and am having it done.  I am thankful for those faithful friends and loved ones who are lifting me up-for grace to get this done.  I am thankful for great friends and time spent together.
I am thankful for connecting with you, my blogging friends.  For more TT posts please visit Iris at http://www.eph2810.com/   Since I will be tied up tomorrow with the test, I won't be posting until the weekend.
Be blessed today.
Noreen

  3. Enjoyed your TT post Noreen, one of the greatest perks of being retired is stopping when ever you want to. I will be praying for you as you take the one test that everyone dreads so.. and for a great report.
What a joy to have family so nearby!
    Enjoy your Labor Day weekend.
    Hugs,

  7. I haven't seen a Thankful Thursday for a long time - I need to join in some memes again.

I just discovered your comment on my Boothbay Part II post - I just fell in love with that one end of the village - it is interesting that we ate at the same places! I love that we have a reason to go to Maine. I never dreamed I would ever get there.

BTW, that wonderful procedure - the prep is so yucky, but the procedure is a piece of cake! I hate the first part so very much. But it's a necessary evil.

  8. Good for you for getting a colonoscopy! Hope everything is clear. I had my first one a few months ago. My husband is a colon cancer survivor, so i am a strong advocate about this! Enjoyed reading your post this Thankful Thursday. God bless!

  9. It is such a blessing to be near our kids and to be able to help out when they need it. That's one of the biggest blessings of being retired.

I had my first "big" test when I was 54 and still working ... I took the prep day off and was so glad ... there was NO way that I could have worked. I had to have it repeated last summer, and it was even a worse experience than the first time. Thankfully nothing abnormal was found so I won't have to go through that again for another 10 years. I'm praying that you will get good results from your test.

    Take care.

  11. Great thanksful list...oh sorry on the test...haven't done it either, but am going in for a Mam...haven't done that in 10 years. I wonder what my grandmothers would say about all the test we now have.

Have a blessed weekend...prayers for your journey.
