She's Back

On of the joys each spring is to see new life all around me and it is no surprise at how excited I get when I see our local red fox appear with young kits.  Last year we were treated to seeing the largest group yet-we had about 6-8 kits which is very unusual for a fox.  This year mama didn't appear when I thought she would and although I saw signs of habitation, we didn't see any babies until yesterday.  The pack is smaller this year with only three kits being seen and they are a tad bit older than last year when they made their appearance.  You can see how mama is watching us as we take pictures. There is nothing that makes me happier than seeing wildlife and this is one of the treasures I hold close.

On another note, I think Americans are breathing a bit easier today with the announcement of Bin Ladens death.  My heart still aches for those who lost loved ones on 9/11 and pray this might help heal their wounds. I don't think the war on terrorism is over by a long shot but it is a start.

Because of His grace, Noreen

  4. Happy Monday Noreen!! I'm not sure if you're seeing a comment from me the second time or not--My first one just kind of disappeared...But I wanted to say that I also enjoy seeing the fox! We had one that had a den on the field next to us and I really enjoyed hearing their yips!

I hope your week is off to a good start!!

  7. Foxes are so beautiful. We used to see a few behind an old house we lived in that was right on the edge of town. We have Engineer friends who are in Afghanistan with the Corps of Engineers.....praying for safety for personnel and our troops against any retaliation. Peace of mind as well.
    Hope your week is good!

  8. I love the pics of the foxes. How fun that you can watch them. Yes, I agree that would be a wonderful trade off. I help you to sew, and you teach me to quilt! haha...I have a feeling if we lived near each other though we'd spend a good deal of our time just talking and bragging to each other about our grands. : ) Hope you have a wonderful day. HUGS!!

Yes, I am feeling the same feelings over Bin Laden...some closure at last for them.

  10. I guess foxes are not the pest in your part of the world that they are in others. While holidaying in the UK a few years ago we spotted one at the end of the garden and were told they were a real pest coming so close to the houses. Here 'down under' we see the occasional one coming out on to the main road from the bush but not really that common. Glad you get such pleasure from watching the little family. Blessings!
