Yesterday hubby and I began our search for a home to purchase. We met our Realtor and viewed two houses; the second one was a definite possibility. I am asking the Lord to lead dear hubby and so am letting him take the role of finding a home that the Lord has without my jumping ahead and controlling where we end up. I've done that too many times in my life and know that the only place I want to be in where the Lord chooses. Although we are anxious to be in our new home, we are taking our time looking. So many have encouraged me that what the Lord has for us may not look like what I think it should but again my motto this year is TRUST. So I have turned over my desires and hopes and am waiting to see what comes about. It will be so fun to watch as this search unfolds. I am already praying for the house and the neighbors and the ability to be good stewards of all the blessings He gives.

  1. I am excited for you. keep trusting! I remembered the town daughter lived in. Sebastable CA. near Sana Rosa. She went to church (and worked at) Red Wood Covenant Church. Can't wait to hear more about the house hunt.

  3. hey Noreen, praying for you here. We were in the same boat when we first moved to this town 6 years ago. We wanted a house that we had our eye on but our house we were selling didn't sell fast enough and someone else got it. Anyway a few months later we found the house we're currently in which is way better anyway, God has the perfect house for you just around the corner :-)

  4. Noreen,

I am still praying with you.
I understand about trying to control the outcome. I have run ahead of the Lord too many times.
I went to Lifeway Christian bookstore and found this bookmark with this on it:

T - Take one day at a time.
    Matthew 6:34

R - Remember all things work
    together for good.
    Romans 8:28

    U - Under no circumstances
    should you worry.
    Philippians 4:6

S - Start everyday with prayer
    and thanksgiving.
    1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

T - The Lord will never forsake
    you.
    Hebrews13:5

When I read it, I thought it would be a good reminder for me(because I sure need it). Talk about a word from the Lord to me -- right between the eyes %)
    Always Blessings,
    Miriam

  6. One thing I always did was knock on doors and talk to neighbors before I bought a house. My last home I had to move from in St Louis though was a gift from god. As soon as I saw it I did not care if it had 1 bedroom or 3. I bought it subject to seeing the inside because it had a tenant who did not want to move. We had to sell it and move here as hubby had bypass and could no longer work. Some how we may get a replacement for that home on Aug 26, 09. As I won the bid on a small farm 2 min away. Out side of town. Again with that one I feel the presence of god there. And did not talk to a neighbor till after we won the bid. The neighbor has a kind heart. And I think I will enjoy having him as a neighbor. It is amazing if you are led to a place of happiness. This house is made of stone and need lots of tlc. I would not of bought it on a city lot. But the location is awesome. I will call it Rock Heaven. As it is full of stone from heaven.
