Gardening

Good Morning to you! Firstly, I have to say I'm not sure what is happening with our weather lately; today is cloudy with rain expected, which in and of itself is not so unusual for Colorado, but it feels more like autumn in California. We do need the moisture, but I am always reminded that we can't really begin planting until the end of the month. With that in mind, I searched  Pinterest this morning to see if there were any pictures of yards that resembled ours.
This yard could actually be ours-with the white fencing and the planting bed. I love the way the rocks look too. It might look nice longer than shredded bark as well.
Each year, hubby and I talk about making our deck and patio bigger; I just love this look! If we decided to stay in this house, which I don't expect will happen, this would be my design plan too. As for sprucing up the yard each year, well that just has to get done. In fact, we will be adding rocks to make our grass area smaller and adding at least two new trees. I had wanted to add an Aspen but may change that to a Flowering Pear(fruitless)and possibly add a Blue Spruce as well.

This isn't even in the realm of possibilities but I love the look!!! I love climbing roses and it looks so relaxing and inviting. I've definitely enjoyed searching for yard ideas on Pinterest. I don't go to this site often but when I do, I'm always inspired. Do you belong to Pinterest?
I hope you have a day filled with creativity and joy.
Pass some sunshine to those around you!

  1. It really is fun to dream. I love Pinterest and keep adding and adding and adding to my boards. I'm caught between two worlds --- one of dreaming and one of being content with life as it is.

The gardens you shared are just LOVELY! I hope you get some moisture soon.

  3. Love these pics you have shared. I do not belong to Pinterest but I know so many folks just love it!
We need to buy a few flowering plants to add color. We have had heavy rain and cooler temps for about a week now.
Hope you and Hunter enjoy your afternoon.

  4. Oh Noreen, I wish you could see the awful things that are going on next door!!! Years and years ago that was an old plantation looking place... Wth great big wonderful oaks and azaleas!!!! It sold 4 times since I have been here!!! With each owner the place went down hill!!! Now they are tearing everything up--everything!!!! They are going to put 40 houses on the 15 acres!!!! Awful!!!

  7. Those yards do look lovely. Currently my yard has about 87,000 dandelions in it. I AM NOT kidding. It is a battle every year. I think this year MOM just might say, "They win." She wishes there really was a way to zap them, but everything we try each year does not work, well at least doesn't work as she hopes.

  8. Sigh, says the Momster - she too dreams of a garden like those. But with four dogs, two of whom still like to dig, that won't be happening. But dreams are nice.

Mom has been wanting to get into Pinterest, hope it isn't too confusing - she gets addled easily:)

  10. I miss you!!!! I'm sorry I've been missing - between the new "puppy" and the GARDEN, my time is not my own!
I can't wait to see what you do! Take before and after pix; it's always fun to see the changes.
Our weather has been so crazy, too. We still have some ornamental grasses we haven't cut yet - if the rain holds, we'll do the last of them this afternoon. There's always so much to do out there --- and then things we WANT to do, too. We're considering some major dig-ups this year again. Should be interesting!
    Hugs!
