Morning Friends~I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a very special Mother's Day. I was so glad to see that many friends posted that this can be a hard holiday for some, but if you've ever loved a child you knew or if you have fur-babies, you are definitely a Mother.
Saturday afternoon when I got the mail, I was so surprised to see an envelope from a dear blogging friend.
Imagine how excited I was to open it and see this beautiful photo card from Val. Val used to live in the Islands and on our last trip, she alerted me to a beach that was home to a baby Monk Seal and its Mama.
The card reminded me of Hawaii so much; but what I found inside was a beautiful hand made necklace. What Val didn't know is that I've always collected sea glass when at the ocean and seeing it in this necklace, made my heart sing.
It is hard to see its beauty but trust me, Val outdid herself making this for me! What is even more exciting to me is the fact that Val's hubby, a dentist, took over an office in Kapa'a-the area we stay in when we are in Kauai. Next spring when we are there, you know I'll be meeting Val and her girls-Gracie and Schatzie and hopefully spending time with them all. If you don't know Val, go by and say hi- you can find her here: http://mygirlzgotpaws.blogspot.com/
Thank you Val for this thoughtful gift; I will wear it proudly and I am counting the months til we meet.
It is already very warm here; I took Hunter to the dog park and walked with friends and couldn't wait to get home and put on shorts. I'm thinking about the weeding I need to do but it may have to wait until it cools down later today.
Have a blessed day!

The sea glass has a lovely glow to its color and how good of your friend to send you this necklace she made as a surprise.

ReplyDeleteThat sure was nice of Val! Warm day here today - 91 degrees! Mom melted on her long run but I revived her with some kisses. Tell Hunter "Aarf"!

Yes, we know Val! She was our partner in the Christmas Exchange! What a gorgeous necklace she made for you! And an awesome surprise!! How cool that the two of you get to meet. Always a fun time meeting fellow bloggers. We are having the opposite weather here...there is a Freeze Warning...down in the 20's tonight. As I sit here typing my feet are freezing...I may have to turn on the heat! Hugs to Hunter and hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! xo Jeanne, Chloe and LadyBug
