Happy Tueday to you. Today it is a cold, 35 degrees, dreary day and we've already had a few snowflakes falling. I find myself dreaming of springtime and my favorite flowers blooming but let me tell you we are several months away from that.  I had the hardest adjustment, when we first moved here, to not planting until Memorial Day weekend for fear of more frost and snow.  When I'm visiting sites in blogland and seeing beautiful gardens already, it reminds me of living in California.  Our grass is still very brown and most of our trees are bare but I'm thankful that we don't have more snow on the ground right now.
When I visited our friends in Carmel Valley, I took Aletha a book and she quickly ran and got a book for me, which I started reading yesterday. It is a very easy read with lots of photos of dogs; I am enjoying it.

I could tell that yesterday I stretched some muscles that I haven't used in a while,I'm hoping that they adjust quickly.  Today I will do some chores, quilt and run out to get some dogfood at Wal*art.  I just want to snuggle under a quilt and enjoy being inside.  What about you, are you dreaming of spring weather and flowers?
Joy to you~Noreen

  1. Oh I am with you friend...I wanted to stay in my jammies all day and knit but it wasn't meant to be....We are having spring like weather and all the flowers and trees are blooming...It's just that in the back of my mind I know winter has not left for good.....

Take care of that muscle so it doesn't bother you when spring does get here....

  2. Ah yes, dreaming and planning for Spring! It rained all day yesterday, leaving us with beautiful snow capped mountains, and even some snow on the foothills right near our home. Beautiful blue skies today. My little Noah is sick and my daughter stayed home today to be with him. I just ran supplies over there, and now I am wondering...what shall I do with my day?

  3. WE are having snow/rain and it is very cold here to. I find myself being lazy and not wanting to go out into the play areas and clean and play with the dogs.

I could go for a bit of spring too

  5. I think we all long for spring when we are at the end of winter. As Nancy said, it is very spring like here in N.C. We even have the doors open today. My yard is filling with beautiful daffodils and the tulips will be up very soon too.
    Hope that muscle heals quickly.
    Blessings~

  7. Oh dear, spring is far away here as well. We have some snow on the ground and chilly temps.
Like you, we can't even consider planting anything till after Memorial Day and even then we pray for the best.
I do have spring decorations in my house, so it's a start.
I bought some coffee filters and florist wire and tape, so my daughter and I can make coffee filter flowers. That will add some spring decore to our house!

  10. I noticed, when I picked up the two littlest grandkids this afternoon, that the crocuses at DD's have begun blooming! It must be spring if the crocuses are blooming, right? ha!

I wanted to stay inside and get some quilting done ... but when DD called asking if I wouldn't mind watching the 2 little ones, I said "yes" so fast your head would spin. ;-) Time with grandkids always trumps time quilting! ;-)
