Happy Friday to you! We are settling back in, the laundry is done and fridge is filled but I also need to do some housework today. Before I get too involved in chores, I thought I'd share a couple of photos with you from our trip. I took my camera and large lens and then barely used it-what a pity.
Although hubby looks like he is napping, he is really watching golf on a big screen t.v. at my brother's house. Their dog, Izzy, loves to snuggle and she loved us; generally if we were relaxing she was by our side. Isn't she just adorable!
"Please, a treat please" she seems to be saying. Those eyes hold so much expression and love.
My big brother and I; as the years pass we look more alike and more Irish, not a bad thing. The main reason we ventured out to California was to see my dear mil; she has gotten so frail and we just never know how much longer she has, so it was great to see her. Having her acknowledge me, I'd love to say recognize but I'm not sure about that, was pure joy. She had three out of four good days while we were there and I love that hubby got to see her. I haven't been around anyone with dementia before so wasn't sure how much to engage her in conversation.
Well, our Reggie did just fine at the kennel and is home and so very happy. Apparently, when hubby picked him up yesterday, Reggie acted like a puppy. I guess he really missed us; I'm not telling him about our trip in two months-he wouldn't be happy with us then.
Hope you have a blessed weekend.
Hugs, Noreen

Looks like a great time with family. I think you're right about not telling that sweet baby you're leaving again! ;)
ReplyDeleteI normally don't have my sound on...but did today and was blessed by your playlist!
Woof! Woof! Happy Friday n Weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteWe won't tell Reggie, either, about your upcoming trip. ;-) We're so thankful to have someone who comes to our home to care for our pup. She has one of our Abby's littermates ... and 3 other labs in her family, so she knows how to deal with a big dog. She's had to go way beyond the call of duty with Abby's health issues (had to deal with stuff that even I have to FORCE myself to deal with - and she's MY dog!), which is such a comfort to us when we're traveling.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad, too, that you had some good days with your MIL.

ReplyDeleteI think the first time I saw a Border Terrier (is that right?) was at a dog show. Then I saw them on 'Monarch of the Glen,' then I saw one who 'hosted' a B&B in Leyburn, North Yorkshire (with help, of course.) They're not a common breed around here. Most people have labs. (except me).
