Manitou Cliff Dwellings

My heart has always been drawn to the native peoples here; seeing these cliff dwellings was so incredible and being able to walk through them was even better.

I have seen several areas with ruins; two  in Arizona but these were the most preserved I've seen.
I haven't been to Mesa Verde yet and hope to make that trip sometime in the future.
We had a wonderful weekend with our family; this was a birthday gift to both hubby and I and also Mother's Day and Father's Day-our kids really spoil us and we so appreciate their generosity.
Have a wonderful afternoon!  Noreen

  1. Hey Noreen,

This was such a sweet post in more ways than one. I love that your family had such a wonderful week end. When we were growing up we spent a LOT of time in cliff dwellings especially at Mesa Verde and the surrounding area. Your pics brought back so many wonderful times spent with my dad working and digging in some of those dwellings. One day on a dig(my dad was a grad student at Fort Lewis) my dad and I found peices to a kiva jar. Fort Lewis took the pieces, recreated the jar and gave to him. After my dad passed away my mom gave it to me and now it sits in my livingroom. I hope that one day you and your family will make it to Mesa Verde...it's such a special place. Take care.

  2. Aren't those amazing. I haven't been in a while. So cool that you could travel together.

  3. Such fun pictures! I love the one of Faith... she has my smile! :)

    love you!

  4. I don't know how I missed yesterday's post, but I just read it. How adorable she is, and your right the red flower was just darling. Glad she had such a nice day...and today's post looks like you had SUCH a good time. I love taking little mini trips with fam. It just can't be beat. Yes, it sounds like they spoil you... how wonderful. And finally, soo exciting about the fabric....I just can hardly wait to hear about it. Hope you had a good day! HUGS

  5. Enjoyed the trip with you Noreen, It is always a treat to take trips with family. I am amazed at all the fantastic historical places we have in our country.

I read the birthday post, and was blessed by the birthday photos and Peanut will have wonderful memories. You are so blessed to have your family nearby.

  6. What a great time together with your family. We went to Mesa Verde only once, when our kids were 4 and 2. The steps up to the cliffs were scary for me, as scared as I am of straight up and down heights. Kristen was with her grandma, holding her hand, and she said, "This is not fun, Grandma!" I'd like to try it again.

  7. Hi Noreen,
Looks like yall have been having lots of fun around there. Looks like a neat trip to that Indian Ruins.
Looked like a fun birthday party for peanut too, she looked adorable with that big red flower in her hair, and loved the quilt you made for her so very pretty. Those cupcakes looked mighty cute and yummy I have to say,
wish you could email one over to me!! lol
Thanks for coming by today it was so good to hear from you hon,
    Blessings for a Happy Easter!
