Hi girlies! Happy Thursday to you! It is that time of week again to stop and take inventory, if you don't do it daily, on all that you are thankful for. When I visited my dear friend Lynn, at http://unequalmarriage.typepad.com/, her message is similar to what is floating around this old brain today.
But first I have to tell you that last night we got quite a bit of rain, which actually was o.k. cause my sweet man had just fertilized the lawn and I had fed the plants. However, this morning dear hubby got up and we have that white stuff falling from the sky. Yep, snow; you all know how I love the snow but in April, really! I wasn't too pleased at this because I am ready for sunshine, flowers and sunny days but I'm thankful I have eyes to see.
Last night I went to an incredible ladies fellowship and was so blessed; the topic was worship and you know how much I love worship. It was also about replacing all those lies we tell ourselves as women, you know the ones-I'm not good enough, not talented enough, ________________( fill in the blanks). We actually traded silk flowers for the real ones and asked the Lord to pour out His Spirit on those areas we gave to Him. Any area of our life can be given in love to Him~hobbies, relationships, dreams etc. I don't know about you, but this girl has bought into lies for so long that they just become a normal thought process. As of last night, I will be speaking truth to myself about those things I gave over. Lynn also talked about how our lives, our blogs, our love can impact others for Jesus. Even if it is only one person, I want others to know how cherished they are, how loved they are and how valuable they are to the Lord.
Today, if you have a recorded message of lies in your brain, won't you take it to the cross and let Jesus replace it with His love and truth.
Don't forget to visit Lynn and read more TT posts.
With much love and blessings, Noreen

Oh, we are all looking for spring. The snow flakes discourage, but God is faithful and spring will come. God is faithful in our lives too. Thank-you for sharing truths from your women's meeting.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I love it and it serves as a wonderful reminder to not get caught up in the lies we tell ourselves as women. After reading much on this, I realize just how much we do this..whether it is intentional or not. To this day, I still have to stop and remind myself what the "truth" is.
ReplyDeleteThank you for another great and thought provoking post.
BTW, I don't like snow in April either, but am thankful I have eyes that can see it too!
Blessings,
Cindy
wonderful post~~~~I just finished a video series by Joyce Meyers.....Battlefield of the Mind. WOW....talk about being reminded about the Truth. I ordered several copies of the DVD. It is older so not very expensive. She is a great cheer leader for all of us. Everything she teaches is pouring the Word of God into us. Filling our minds with His Words is so important. Sometimes though I find that I need to pray each morning to remember to choose those truths...not just slide into lies. Tricky way to waste our time and distract us from loving on others.
ReplyDeleteI heard you guys were getting snow....thankful we're just preparing for some good soaking rains. We're still in that yo-yo stage of temps but I'm hanging on for the cold to make it's last appearance soon...
Hope your day is grand!

This is great! Those lies get into our heads so easily. It's hard to speak truth and believe all the time. I'm loving this Thankful Thursday. It's my first time joining in and I hope it's not my last.

Thank you for the uplifting words. I really needed them today, just like we really needed that rain last night and the snow this morning.
