This is a bit late but hubby and I were up early and started painting before 6:30 am and just now finished for the day. Lately when we've been out early this is a sight that greets us, or rather me since hubby is on the ladder watching what he's painting. When we lived in Ca. and I worked at a daycare center, hot air balloons would fly over almost daily during the spring and summer and sometimes even land in a nearby field. I always loved seeing them, so when we get them here it is a special treat for me. I also woke up with a song of praise on my lips this morning and thanked the Lord for yet another day of life and love. The house painting is coming along quite nicely, almost all the base is done with just one area of the second story to finish. We have been working on trim and the front porch is done and the gutters are primed and waiting for another day. Still seems like a lot of work to finish, especially when we are just working in the mornings but it already looks so much better. Even the neighbors are telling us how they love the paint color and how good it looks. Nothing like a fresh coat of paint to brighten things up.
Remember when you are outside today to stop and look upward~you'll never know what you'll see.

How neat! I remember seeing them on occasion in Colorado and also when we lived in Reno. I have to say that I am not sure I have ever seen one in SE Washington though! They used to send our dog just nuts over the edge in Reno. I don't know what it was about hot air balloons she disliked so much. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
ReplyDeleteHI! Noreen, I love Hot Air Baloons, unforuately we don't see them in our area, but pictures, and on TV ever so often I will stop and watch them. They are so pretty and colorful. Sounds like you are doing good on house, I finally have got 2 rooms painted, and yes is is refreshing. Still have a ways to go myself. But so Thankful I can do it! Have a Blessed day of beauty!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a beautiful sight to see!!!
ReplyDeleteNoreen,
ReplyDeleteWe both have "uplifting" posts today. It's true on rare occasions to see those beautiful hot air balloons flying overhead here in CA.
I bet you both will be so happy once the painting is done just in time for the fall/winter weather that lies ahead.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Still painting???

yes they were pretty (o:
I love those balloons yet I'm not good with heights. When we were visiting Pennsylvania a few years ago we saw where they took off from and I happened to mention - casually like - it might be nice to ride one - quick as a flash DH was in and purchased tickets for the same afternoon. I just loved it - even 'flying' through some tree tops - it was an eerie sensation and so quiet - could even hear dogs barking on the ground. Great to do! Look forward to seeing a pic of the house all freshly painted when its finished Noreen. A lot of hard work though.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Hi Noreen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious post!
I remember the summer we painted our 2 story house ourselves...we rented scaffolding and everything! My dear husband is afraid of heights and had to "psych" himself out each morning!!!
Also LOVE your encouragement to "look UP."
Blessings and ((Hugs))
I am looking upward today.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely day and enjoy the rest of summer.
Blessings from Missouri~

Every once and a while I see a hot air balloon. They are so beautiful. It is one of my bucket list items to do but I am afraid of heights so I hope I can do it.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Blessings

Years ago my Mom wanted to go in a hot air balloon for her bday. We tried countless times and each time they were set to go the phone would ring and the gentleman would have to cancel due to weather. I was sooo sad and to this day she hasn't been able to do this! I am going to try to get my daughter and my mom to go together when my daughter turns 18 next month! Pray it all works out :)
ReplyDeleteLooking up today :) Bless you my friend
