Can you believe there is only thirteen days left until Christmas?  Wow is all I can say; I've really got to finish some things up!  Well, for those of you that have Nooks, Kindles, I Pad's I had an interesting time learning all about the different products last night.  Hubby fell in love with the new mini-IPad and I told him that we would get it for his next computer; now that we are used to our IPhone, it isn't as different as we once thought.  For me, the choice was between a Nook Color and a Kindle Fire.  What I learned is that they are similar and the choice is about preferences.  At first, the Nook Color has a bright clear picture and the Kindle Fire didn't measure up; however I think that it was the contrast was turned down.  The librarians were so helpful and showed us a lot, in fact I signed up for a class in Jan/Feb.  In the end though, my choice would be the Kindle Fire because I use Amazon a lot and don't get into Barnes & Nobles much at all; plus I like that Amazon doesn't have sales tax. The friends who were with us will probably be getting the Fire too; we both decided to wait until after Christmas to get better prices.  Since ours will be for trips, I am not in a rush to get one.  Right now, I am up to my head in projects and it would probably just sit and not be used immediately.
Today I will be walking and then this afternoon join ladies doing crafts; I'm hoping to get my ornaments done.
Tomorrow is a day that I will have here at home, working on projects and finishing things up.  Actually, as much as I love not having snow, if it was snowing I'd probably stay home more.  I hope your day is blessed with all that makes you happiest.
Joy to You!

  2. The price on electronics is falling all the time so there might be some good deals after Christmas! BTW, did you know you can get ebooks from your local library too? Pioneer Library runs it for most states.

  3. I have a Kindle Touch (just an e-reader). I wish I had spent the little extra to have gotten a Kindle Fire, but with an iPhone and a laptop, I'm mobile. ha! If you decide to go with the Kindle, you might want to check out http://www.inspiredreads.com/. I get daily emails with offers free/cheaper Christian Kindle books (fiction and non-fiction). I've built myself a pretty decent library of free books from Inspired Reads ... I "buy" anything that sounds the least bit interesting ... if it turns out that I don't like the book, it's no big deal as it was free. ;-)

I finished up our Christmas cards this morning, and I have nothing to do until 2:30 (we are going to help load up the Angel Tree gifts at church for delivery tomorrow). I hope to be able to get a couple of hours of quilting done.

And you surely know by now that I am really wishing for snow. ;-)

  4. I have the Kindle Fire (and an older Kindle...) but I've found I prefer reading using the Kindle app on my iPad. :) Something to consider. Plus other apps run better on the iPad than on the Fire. For me, anyway.

  5. A friend of mine just got the mini ipad, and I didn't think I would like it, but with the keyboard, I do!!! I have a new keyboard for my ipad that I love. I did not like to type messages on the keyboard on screen, but with this plug in keyboard you use via bluetooth connection, it is easy peasy!!!
    Good luck with your choice!!!!
    Hugs,
    Kris

  6. Woof! Woof! My mom says she has an iPad, there's no need for a nook or kindle fire. Yes she would love to have the mini iPad. One thing she learned since she is putting her book in eKindle the Nook is not the same way. Enjoy your day. Happy 12-12-12 Wednesday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  8. I love my iPad because it has apps that let me read any format of book, kindle or nook. That's why I chose it.

Yes, Christmas is sneaking up really fast. We have the flu, and it is nasty (101 temp, terrible cough, aches). Believe it or not, we both got flu shots and we're still like this. Steer clear of sick people like us! (actually we're staying home to avoid infecting anyone else).

  10. Sweet blessings to you!
Oh how I wish we'd get some snow!

I will have to get really brave and go see if I can handle nooks and kindles. I am so techie challenged....gotta get over the fear of this. Nice that your Library has classes.
    That would be very helpful,
