Steamboat Springs

It's almost the weekend friends, yippee!
I love the look of the Aspen's tree trunk.
It amazed us at how much water was still flowing.

We saw two of these high up in a tree; we think they are paper wasps but were so huge.  They could have held small birds but we really didn't have a clue.
A funny little guy; we hadn't heard squirrels make chirping sounds before-so interesting.  He also chased off some really cute chipmunks.

I hope you have a great day and an even better weekend.
Joy to you!  Noreen & Hunter

  1. What beautiful surroundings!!! That water is so pretty! I love Aspens too. I wonder what that mysterious thing is???? Interesting. You don't have squirrels where you are? They are in my yard all the time....chirping away, storing their nuts from the pecan trees. Funny little creatures!!!
Have a lovely day my friend.

  2. MOM just loves Steamboat. And I have heard my fair share of Squirrels chattering at me. Far to many teasing me from their lofty branches.

  4. Hi Noreen,
Love all your pictures, so beautiful,
I just love nature, God is just so
amazingly creative. That hornets nest is really cool, hope you didn't get any surprises. Thought it funny that lil squirrel was red and gray mixed.
All our squirrels are just gray.
Know you enjoyed this and the cool weather. It was lovely here early but went to 90 pretty fast. Tomorrow is only suppose to be 84
and Sunday 82, which is good around here........lol

Hope you have a delightful weekend,
    Love and Blessings, Nellie

The bark on those trees is so pretty, reminds me of what I thought birch trees look like, so
those are Aspen trees. Really cool
    looking................

  5. Such wonderful places you have there to visit and enjoy. We are so sorry about those dogs yesterday. You haven't had very good luck with huskies:( Hope your next walk with Hunter goes much better.

  6. Gorgeous pictures. It sure looks like a wasps' nest, but strange that it's so huge. Have a fantastic weekend!

  7. Wow, that is a huge wasp nest!! We have a squirrel across the street from our house that sits on a rock by a tree and squeaks like a squeaky wheel. He does it for a couple weeks then goes away. Did Hunter go with you?

  10. Yes! That is definitely a paper wasp nest...we had one about four times that size in one of our trees...it was HUGE!! And also scary! What a beautiful place you are visiting. Squirrels at the cottage make lots of noise...as do the chippies...which makes Chloe a little bit crazy! Have fun on your getaway!! I so appreciate YOU Noreen!! xo Jeanne

  11. I miss the Aspen trees that we used to see in Alaska--There is nothing like their amazing color and beauty in any season.

I hope you're enjoying your weekend!
