Frost or Snow

Happy Friday to you! We have had internet issues all day, which is why I'm just now posting. After getting a new modem, things seem to be working-thankfully. This morning this is what we woke up to and although it is very light, hubby and I both thought it was snow but others have said they think it is just frost.

All I can say is that it is darn cold here today!  I even got out my winter parka because I was freezing when we went out. We haven't yet turned on the furnace or gas fireplace, instead are just snuggling under quilts.  We have two of our grands coming for the night, so I'll be covering them in quilts.  Thankfully, our dog trainer uses her heated garage or basement when it's snowing, which it is supposed to do tomorrow and Sunday.  I am still not ready for this weather and I'm going to try to be thankful for it-after all it could be worse-maybe flooding or a tornado etc etc.  So I can deal with a little cold; after all it hasn't gotten down in the 20's yet.
Have a wonderful weekend friends!

  2. Goodness, it is not that cold here but the furnace is on, just don't handle the cold anymore and so pamper ourselves with a bit of heat when needed! I love my wool comforter at night though when I sleep and the house is cooler. We usually go down to 63 at night and 70 during the day.
Have fun with the grands. A hard frost expected here tonight but not the 14 in of snow Northern MN got yesterday!

  3. Hi Noreen,
It looks like frost to me but it could be snow. I just hope it keeps its distance from us for a while. Our winters are too long as it is.
Thank you for your visit and very nice comment about my blog birthday. Hope you have a lovely weekend. It's Thanksgiving for us this weekend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  5. WE are hoping for two more Camping trips before the snow. So hopefully you can keep it on your end of the coundry.

    But if you must share......

  6. Steph lives in the foothills in the southwest part of Denver. She got snow....no question. She sent us all pictures this morning to rub it in. I LOVE snow. I started a fire in the fireplace this afternoon, but I think we can avoid the furnace. Warm blankets are a wonder on chilly nights. I kind of like the cooler air to sleep in. I'm having trouble connecting that it is October. I need to get some firewood ordered. I LOVE fires. Enjoy your weekend!

  8. We will say it is snow too, so maybe some will come our way soon:) Mom had to get her fleece jacket out today because we were in the 40s most of the day here.

Hope you have a fun night with the grands.

  9. I am just amazed at the change in weather you've had almost overnight it seems. When I read the title to your post, I did a double take. When I first began attending my church about 15 years ago, there were two ladies that always looked for me. They were Robbie Frost and Barbara Snow. They would say I could never forget Frost and Snow. And I haven't forgotten to this day!

  11. I say snow, too. ;-)

It was 51 when I got up this morning and the temperature has been dropping steadily all day ... it will be in the mid 30s for the low. I just could not get warm inside (even under a quilt - while quilting), so I broke down and turned on the furnace ... even had the fireplace going while we watched the Cardinals game.

  12. WOW! Frost or snow, it looks pretty cold to me! How cold does it have to be in your house before you turn your heater on? I'm just curious...I rarely run my heat. I like my house cool. I am wondering how my mom will do. I have a feeling I will turn it on more than usual this year. Enjoy your week-end! HUGS
