Wednesday Greetings to you.  Well, hubby and I are settled back into our nest and trying our best to stay warm despite the frigid temps.  Thankfully our snow has been light and made shoveling the driveway and sidewalks easy work.  I realized yesterday that next Monday is Valentine's Day and I have a suggestion for you ladies who need an idea of something for your man~yesterday hubby and I used the last of our gift card and went to the movies to see True Grit.  O.k. friends if you need a "guy movie" take him to this.  I had seen the original in high school but don't remember it; this movie was good, acting was good but it was definitely a man's movie-or at least to me.  I do enjoy westerns occasionally but I wouldn't necessarily go see this a second time.  Now we have to watch the original to compare the two. One of my friends asked a question on her blog about our hubbies and their idea of romance, so yesterday we got into a discussion of what is considered romantic by my man.  It is interesting to see things from their perspective.  I don't need chocolates any more and I don't expect flowers either but it got us talking and it was fun.
Have a wonderful day dear ones.

  1. That is such a great idea Noreen! I think I just might do that!

We are in by the fire. So far we've had 9 inches fall this morning and overnight. I am just sooo thrilled that my husband is here for this one!

Stay warm my friend! Love you!

  2. Oh my goodness....I have seen the original many times. And we have already been to see the new one. We both preferred the original, but then we are John Wayne fans. We've even been to several locations used in the first one! Is that sick or what!

  3. I'm one of those weird ones...and I have no problem with people who play up the holiday...it's just not for my husband and I. I took the pressure off of him LONG ago.....we don't "do" Valentines Day. I would much rather get the random flowers just because then on a day chosen. You're a good woman to go to that movie. Our household of girls tease my hubby when he watches a war movie...."do you think the Japanese might win this time?" :o) We do think so differently don't we. Our lives are so crazy right now with a business mess and his 92 year old mom having health issues that require him stopping there a lot. Then our girls come home every weekend.... I kind of miss him.

  5. William already saw True Grit. (I told him I couldn't watch it because no one would do better than John Wayne.) He liked it, but we both like the original the best. We are both big John Wayne fans! We plan to go on a day trip to the foothills for Valentine's Day.

Enjoy the rest of your week! :)
