Winter Wonderland

Happy Friday Friends,  It is hard to believe that our long and beautiful Autumn has come to an end and winter is here.  Don't get me wrong I love the white stuff, especially when I can just stay in and enjoy it from the windows.  I will admit though that yesterday's snow looked especially beautiful as I was driving to my study.  Fresh snow on the trees is simply breath taking!  By noon it had stopped snowing and being that it was such a wet snow the roads were clear.  This photo isn't very good but it gives you the idea.
Today is relaxed but I did find out our oldest daughter and three of her kiddos have the stomach flu; hopefully the rest of the family won't catch it.  I plan to make up a big pot of chicken & rice soup to take up later, for the weekend or when they are up to eating just a little.  We also have a Scholastic Book Fair in town and I hope to go find some books for the grands Christmas stockings.  This weekend I hope to begin making quilt-ornaments for our December tea party.  I will leave some for the little girls to do, but I will tackle the cutting and most of the stitching; I would love to get those done.
I am thankful for this new season and the promises & hope that it will be a dryer winter than last year.
I am thankful for the many, many blessings the Lord has showered on us.
I am thankful that we didn't catch that flu bug and the ability to cook for our children and grandchildren.
I am thankful for my dear hubby and the man he is.
I am thankful for the friend who tutored me in quilting when I lived next door.
I am thankful for all that I have learned in the Beth Moore study on the Fruit of the Spirit.
I am thankful for the Lords redeeming love.
How about you?  What are you thankful for this day?
Weekend blessings,  Noreen

  2. I love the snow. Here in Oregon in the Valley we don't get much. I too love the snow when I don't have to go anywhere. When it snow here a couple of inches the whole town shuts down.
Hope the flu stays away from you. so far this year I have not got sick.
I am so thankful for that my kitty did not have to be put to sleep. She is 15 years old and has some mouth issues.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. SNOW.....oh I hope we have lots of it. We laugh because my brother and his kids...all in Colorado call my mom, who is a HUGE snow freak, for the first snow falling report. YAY for a Beth Moore study. We live in such a small town and no one is doing them around here...I loved her studies. Enjoy all the snow that the rest of us don't get much of...but I do understand the driving around issue. Hope your weekend is grand!

  5. Oh Noreen this California gal LOVES seeing pics of the snow. How I would love that once in a while. At least it is finally cool here too and I had to shut my windows ALL THE WAY last night, haha...Hope that nasty stomach flu stays away from you and hubby and that your daughter's family recovers quickly. How nice to have you bring them some homemade soup. Your list of thanks and blessings is wonderful. Have a good week-end. HUGS

  6. The photo was beautiful! I'm so jealous of your snow ... I'm sure that I'll still be jealous in another month or two when you've had so much that you're sick of it. We don't get a lot of snow here. :-(

Praying that your daughter and your grands will get over the tummy bug SOON ... and that they won't share! ;-)

    Blessings!

  15. I am thankful that I have been enjoying God's creation in Estes Park this past week. It has been fun sitting inside watching the snow instead of having to get out to go to work. It looks like you got more snow than the mountains did!

  17. Noreen,

Such lovely snow! I don't think it will be long before we are blessed with it. Most days are quite cold though this weekend has been warmer than usual. I admit that I've enjoyed the warm sunshine.

  18. you know, I think Colorado always seems to be right at the top of the list of states getting that 'first snow'... how beautiful it looks, and I so enjoyed hearing all of the special things you are doing.

You are blessing so many others, and in doing so, of course... YOU are so blessed too! That soup sounds perfect! :)
    Have a wonderful Sunday!
