Such Beauty and Strength

Happy September!  As I promised yesterday, here are the photos of the herd of Elk we saw on Sunday in RMNP. I am always awed by these beautiful creatures~both their strength and majesty. There were several large bulls all chasing the cows, with little ones all around. For the first time ever, we even got to see a calf nursing. We were in fairly close proximity, but it never ceases to amaze me at how close some people will try to get-not realizing the danger. We also have a very nice lens, so aren't as close as it appears.

Being in the mountains always refreshes me and Sunday was no exception.  We got to see these and also took a lunch and walked around a lake.  The crowds are at peak right now, which makes parking a hassle, but worth the time and patience.  One of my cousins was in RMNP recently and said she saw three moose.  We know they are over Trail Ridge on the other side, but have not seen any in the park.  I also love Moose, so hope they migrate over.
Yesterday's adventure with my neighbors was fun; unfortunately the restaurant was not as this mall so we had to eat in a food court. No worries though, shopping at Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn is always fun-even if you don't buy anything.
Today I'm off to have coffee with my ladies bible study group and get caught up before our first meeting.  I hope you find some time to do something that brings a smile to your face and heart.
Blessings,
Noreen

  2. Great photos! I mentioned that we'd like to go back to RMNP/Estes Park some day because there was a lot we didn't get to see or do that we'd like to. We saw elk but were disappointed that we didn't see any moose. We would have driven over to see them, but as I said, we were with my family who chose our activities with no input from Charlie and me. :-(

Have a great day with your bible study group. I just had dinner with the ladies I meet with over the summer. It was our last meeting, and you are going into your first!

  6. How exciting. Great shots. I remember seeing ELK over 40 years ago at RMNP! Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn are favorites of mine.

  7. Elk are such beautiful creatures. These great photos remind me of the seven months that we spent in WY in 1997 and the wonderful visits to Yellowstone, seeing thousands of elk, deer and other wildlife. Thanks for sharing these! Have a great rest of your week. Blessings, Cindy xoxo
