Good Morning Friends, I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Last Friday, hubby and I went to see the movie Far From The Madding Crowd. I don't remember seeing the original movie, but this was so good. It may have been in part due to the fact that I've never been to Europe and am going to Ireland in two weeks or possibly that I've always been loved Border Collies and sheep herding.
Set in Victorian England, the stories revolves around a young woman, Bathsheba Everdene played by Carey Mulligan. Bathsheba is pursued by three different men, but I must say that my favorite was Gabriel Oak played by Matthias Schoenaerts. While watching this I became excited about seeing the rolling hills of Ireland and it made me remember why I loved Border Collies so much.
The acting was good and it was well worth the time and money; in fact, when it comes out on DVD I may just buy one. I would rate it Ten Stars.
If you've seen it, let me know what you thought; if not, got see this movie.
Have a great day!
Joy to you.

I am planning on seeing this one today and I love your review. Enjoy your trip, how exciting!
ReplyDeleteI will add this to my list. Like you I don't get there much! Looks really good. Sometimes a good movie just refreshes the soul.
ReplyDeleteMom is trying to get Dad to see this one, but so far no luck. She was just thrilled to get him to see The Age of Adaline, which they both loved. Maybe she will see it once it hits DVD world.

ReplyDeleteSounds like a sweet movie. I don't make it to movies very often, or more like never! Can't remember the last time I went to a movie, years!! And, I haven't quite figured out what is wrong with my DVD player so I don't buy them either. Someday I need to get that thing fixed! Many blessings to you for a great rest of your week, Cindy xoxo
