Thankful Thursday

It is that time again when I pause and give thanks for all the blessings in my life.  What about you?  Do you make a conscious decision to give thanks or just remember to do it occasionally?
Today I am thankful that I woke up to birds singing outside and blue skies.  I am thankful for this season of life and all it holds for us. I am thankful for every day and for a wonderful hubby and family.  I am thankful for full days.  Yesterday I had a great hair appointment and instead of going on a bike ride, hubby and I started working on the areas in the backyard where we are putting flagstone and rocks.  Let me tell you that while we were working-I was weeding, my back was so tired!  However, after having dealt with a bad back for several years, I'm thankful I can do this.  In the evening, I went over to our youngest girl's house to hang out.  I am so thankful for all our grands and for our incredible daughters!  I will tell you that I was so achy last night, during the night, that I wasn't sure how I'd feel today-but I feel great. In fact, I've got to get ready to meet a friend to walk first thing this morning.  The day will be filled~lunch with ladies from church to say farewell to a gal moving to Texas, babysitting grands this afternoon while hubby picks up the two new tables for the guest room.
I pray you have a day filled with smiles and giggles, contentment and peace.
Hugs,
Noreen

  5. Enjoyed reading your thankful heart! And glad to hear you have already recovered from your day of working in the yard. I remember when I was younger and working our HUGE backyard pool area (I called it the plantation, lol, though it wasn't really all that big!) I'd be soo sore etc. But for some reason, it was always a good sore that rarely lasted more than a night or so. But these days I have a feeling I'd pay for it for a while. I have arthritis in many places besides my knees....sigh. Guess I can be grateful I was as active as I was for many, many years! Enjoy your day Noreen, it sounds like a good one.

  7. I would love to get out in the yard to work this afternoon, but I got home from DD's late (I watched Frozen with the littles while Mama took a much-deserved nap) ... I needed to then get ready for my spa appointment (DD was given a gift certificate that expires this week ... she just isn't feeling up to a spa appointment, so she gave it to me ... if the gal is good, I'll pick up a gift certificate to give to DD so she can go get pampered when she's feeling better). ;-)
