Wednesday greetings to you! How is your week going? Ours is flying by but next week promises to be totally relaxed with nothing left to do. Monday I saw my girlfriend and met her sister who lives here in Colorado. I had hoped to stay the night but we were having friends for dinner last night and I had so much to do that I choose to come home. As it was, yesterday was spent running to several grocery stores and getting our dinner preparations done. We had such a nice time with our friends and the meal was perfect. Today we have a commitment this afternoon but other than that we have a relaxed day. Tomorrow I have another girls party-an ornament exchange at a friends house.
Our friends last night asked about our family traditions when our daughter's were growing up so I thought I'd share a few more. Each Christmas eve our family would go out looking at holiday lights and then come home and watch a holiday movie such as Little House On The Prairie or another wonderful movie, then when the girls would go up to get ready for bed I always had laid out new holiday pajamas for both girls. We never put out presents until after the girls went to bed so that when they went down in the morning it was a wonderful surprise.
The countdown is on dear friends so stop and enjoy the festivities!
Hugs and blessings, Noreen

Hi Noreen,
ReplyDeleteI have a book to tell at why Christmas has never been an enjoyable time for me. I met our Father when my G-father and G- mother moved to Florida. Now the wonderful time is just celebrating Jesus's birthday.
I hope you and your family have a joyous time and tell your daughter Happy birthday from me. I have never had a birthday party and most of my birthdays I didn't get anything. Except from my G-parents!!! They never forgot!! I never knew my Mother's parents. So when I say G-parents it's my Fathers parents. They were the best!!!
Merry Christmas if I don't get back to you!!!

It's the exact opposite for me ... this week is going to be a relaxing one for us. Once Saturday gets here, look out! The next 7 days are loaded! After that, things should slow down. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've loved reading through some of your traditions and time with family! Isn't this the best time of year? Those little ones are so thrilled with everything and we are having such fun with our kids and their kids! 3 of the little girls will spend the nite next week and I told them to each pick their favorite Christmas cookie and we will bake all 3 and decorate them. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Our girls used to get new pajamas every Christmas eve to where that night. They always looked forward to that and now they do the same thing for thir children. I love how things just get passed on like that.
ReplyDeleteI love you my friend!
Sounds like you are having such a special and busy time! I love ornament exchanges! I told my mom not to do ornaments bc we had soooo many our tree was gonna fall over LOL it broke her heart though!
ReplyDeleteHope your week is wonderful and as things calm down you can rest and relax and enjoy this most wonderful times of the year! Celebrating JESUS
