Happy Wednesday dear ones~I hope this finds you and yours well as there are some nasty cold bugs going around here which I am trying to avoid. How has your week been? When do you take your decorations down? I've been toying with the idea of starting today but think I will wait until Friday or Saturday.
Yesterday hubby and I went to the movies and saw a new release called "The Tourist" with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, filmed in Italy and I have to tell you that it was a good flick. It was not only a movie guys would like but I found it intriguing and it was pretty clean although a bit suggestive. So if you are looking for something to do on Friday or Saturday you may want to check this out.
We used to spend New Year's Eve with our dear friends and neighbors in California but since we've been here we always have a quiet evening and are in bed before midnight. Sometimes we get together with our girls families to play games but with several having colds I don't think we'll get together.
Today may you experience a profound blessing from above.
Hugs, Noreen

I am glad to hear that movie was good. WQe might go on New Years Day. We had no plans on NYEve... but I hate the idea of staying home alone. I was not in the mood to babysit either...so I asked my girlfriend I was shopping with and we decided to do something together...her hubby and mine too of course (o: Maybe just play cards... hopefully not eat too much.
ReplyDeleteThe movie we're interested in seeing is The Kings Speech. My sister in law said it was good. Johnny Depp is an amazing actor....love to watch him. I'm leaving our twinkly things up for a while...we didn't put up a Christmas tree per se....so I'm going to enjoy all our lights for a while. Hope your day is grand!
ReplyDeleteHi Noreen! Glad you enjoyed the movie--I've heard good things about it--The other that I'm wondering about is 'True Grit.' I'm hearing mixed reviews...
ReplyDeleteWhen I have holiday decorations, I usually take them down by New Year's. But since there aren't really any at my house, out will come my snowman collection, which I love taking out each year!
I hope you have an enjoyable New Year celebration!!!!
Hope your colds don't last long and wishing you all the best in the New Year :o)
ReplyDeleteHey there Nananor
ReplyDeleteI do hope the cold bugs disappear soon!
Yep, that movie is on our circuit too...will have to make a plan.
As for decorations, we wait for after new year here.
Sending lotsaluv to you all.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time with hubby at the movie. I enjoyed Johnny Depp in the Pirates movies, but I don't think I'll be seeing this one after reading about the language in it. I tend to stay away from those with bad language in them.
ReplyDeleteWe've got that nasty bug here in our home. Hubby came down with it two days ago. So we've canceled our plans for New Yr's. We'll just stay home and sip hot tea and enjoy each other's company. lol
I started today taking down some of our decorations. I believe it will take me a few days but I'm in no hurry.
Blessings to you my dear friend. Hope your family gets well soon!
Deb
I've already put the decorations away...they're already eagerly waiting until next year! Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteHey my friend - I have been battling what I think has been the flu since early Monday morning. Today i finally broke out of the 101 to 102 fever range and feel so much better!
ReplyDeleteI usually take my tree down right after Christmas, but havent' had the energy to so yet. Maybe tomorrow....
Love you!
Hope everyone is feeling better soon. We will probably take our decorations down tomorrow or Friday. I always miss them when they are put away. We always have a quiet New Year's Eve at home. Michelle will be spending the night with a friend. Have a very Happy New Year, my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteHi! Noreen, already got my decor boxed up and back in closet! I worked all day Monday. I was determined that I was not going to be a month getting it up! Wanted to share with that Stacy@Coffee with Me, lost her dad yesterday, please keep her in your Prayers! Love and Blessings for a Happy:)New year!
ReplyDeleteHi Sweet Friend,
ReplyDeleteI am enduring that "nasty nasty" cold right now...coughing my head off.
My decorations are still up and will remain up until New Year's Day.
We will be celebrating New Year's Eve day at my daughter's as "Little 1" will soon become known on my blog as "Little 2". His birthday is New Year's Eve day and she is having a birthday celebration for him then...Please pray that this nasty cold vanishes so that I can attend.
Love you!

Noreen, I am soo sorry your family is battling the cold stuff. Our little Rylee had it and then my Jenna got it and I feel it in my eyes today. Praying it doesn't take hold of me! I just got over bronchitis a couple of weeks ago. We took our tree down the day after and I was NOT ready for it to come down this year. It was such a blessed time that I didn't want it to end!
ReplyDeleteMy DH and I went on a date day today and really wanted to go to a movie but it was one of those days that nothing seemed to go right. We made the best of it though! I saw this movie and wondered if it was good so thanks for letting us know! Maybe we will be able to get a movie in before he goes back to work! :)
You are sooo right about us being alike and I soo wish we were neighbors! I would love nothing more than to be able to have coffee together or maybe we could "walk" in our neighborhood sharing our hearts with one another and get some exercise together LOL
Saying a prayer for all of you and yours hoping that nasty cold bug goes away quickly and is gone for the season!!
Love you!
I started out today intending to just undecorate one room, but got on a roll and took down everything but the tree. I'll keep that up till New Years Day. Speaking of which, Happy New Year!

The nasty cold bug in this part of the country has settled in at my house. I did manage to get our tree down Monday morning (it's a real tree, so it was time to get it out of the house ... everything else is still up), but since then, I've been taking it easy.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I hope you don't take that cold into 2011 with you. May you feel better TODAY!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to hear how people wrap up the old year. I love movies, and often we take one in during the week the between Christmas & New Year's. We'll have to consider this one.
For now, I'm enjoying the chilly morning temps (20 degrees), and remains of snow here in the Pacific NW. It is a good day, to be followed by others like it, and a whole new year on top of that. Wow.
Blessings & hugs,
Kathleen
