Happy Friday Friends, When you think of the Christmas season what impacts your senses the most?
For me, music has always had been an important part of my life, from early childhood on. My dad loved to sing and had a wonderful voice. I think all three of us kids also loved to sing, though some were better than others and some of us(namely me)always thought I sounded better than I did. One memory from my childhood is that when records-33rmp-came out my dad would play Bing Crosby's White Christmas album the entire month of Dec. I can still remember it playing throughout our home; one year our daughter gave me a cassette tape of the songs but the technology hadn't improved yet and the quality wasn't good. As our daughters were growing up I always played Amy Grant's Christmas album and of course the children's music such as GT and The Halo Express. I love carols as well and have several instrumental c.d.'s that play in the evening.
What sums up Christmas for you?
Have a wonderful day and weekend dear ones.
Hugs, Noreen

Oh gosh, what nice memories!! For me, my folks always created such a warm and fuzzy feeling for us kids in our home. It is just all good feelings! Oh..I think I feel a blog post coming on.......
ReplyDeleteMusic and laughter! Last night I was up really late working or treats for my hubby's co-workers (he was helping me) and as we listened to Christmas music he made me laugh about stuff soooo much that we didn't get to be until 3am. No kidding. Yep...music, laughter and love. It's all good.
ReplyDeleteLove to you~
Rebecca
The lights for me are not only gorgeous and fun but they equal....The Light that is Jesus....He truly is our Light at ALL times. When I remember to look at the lyrics of carols really well instead of just listening I am always stunned by something every year.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. My parents used to keep wonderful Christmas music playing on the big "records" when we were little kiddo's. One particularly special record is Ferrante and Teicher's "We Wish You A merry Christmas." The Lord used that record as a way to open my ears to the wonderful sounds of piano music when I was only 4. Evie's Come on and Ring Those Bells was another special family favorite too. Being together, just wonderful memories of pretty music in the background and my dad lighting many oil lamps around the house. What a beautiful memory. :) THanks for prompting me to take a moment to THINK about some special memories I have tucked away in my heart. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful memories for you...I remember music, church services, candles, good food and fellowship. Warm memories :)
ReplyDeleteHi Noreen,
ReplyDeleteI've always loved Christmas carols. I play them now when I'm alone, because my family doesn't love them as much as I do. :) I grew up listening to them too.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
