This morning I awoke with the song "Praise the Name of Jesus" on my lips and it was so timely since I had these verses on my heart since Sunday. When God has done so much for me, I can never write someone else off. We can't let self-sufficiency creep into our hearts; We must never leave the posture of an all-consuming need for Jesus. When God has forgiven us so much, paid so much for us, how can we do any less for others. We need to continue to taste and eat, to abide and depend on Jesus each second of every day. Reminds me of another song "I need Thee".
Romans 5:1-8 says:
"1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Isn't this amazing, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for you and I. May you walk in Him today and be blessed.

Amen and thank you for reminding us of how much we need Jesus! It's hard to comprehend someone loving us enough to die for us while we were yet sinners. That part, for me, is so humbling. Nice post!
ReplyDeleteI love how you wake up with a song in your heart. Today I couldn't get the song "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" in my head and my heart. It was quite helpful during a very stressful day.
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Debbie
