Oh The Colors of Aspens

Happy Friday to you! When we first moved here I so missed the beauty of the colors of our favorite trees in Northern California. While I appreciated the yellow Aspens, they did not touch my heart the way other trees did. However, we've been here now for almost 12 years and I can tell you that I love the gold Aspens, especially when they start turning orange. Yes, I do miss the purples, reds, oranges and golds of other trees, but I'm always anxious to get to the mountains. While we don't have as many photos of the trees, here is a sampling.

It doesn't compare to New England~ which is why that is one of my top places in the U.S. or to Sonoma County, but I've grown to love our Autumn.  We went from the park over to Grand Lake looking for Moose, but never saw any.  It was a wonderful day for an adventure and I'm thankful we got up extra early to see the sights-it was well worth it!
Have a great weekend!

  1. Noreen, the aspens are absolutely beautiful! Last year we hit them at their peak when we were at The Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Have a wonderful weekend my friend!

  2. What glorious colours. Different shades of gold! Just lovely! I holidayed in New England a few years ago and absolutely loved the colours there but equally yours have a more gentle beauty!

  3. Absolutely stunning photos, Noreen, I too miss my favorite fall colors, which happen to be in the mountains of our state. We used to go every October, but haven't in a few years, when you have as many animals as we do it is hard to find someone to look after them. The person who used to take care of them passed away a few yrs. ago.
I too haven't been blogging to much but hope to get back to regular posting, blogging is my favorite social media, I just haven't found much time as dh and I are preparing for his upcoming knee surgery.
Thank you for visiting and your sweet comment.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  4. Oh...don't you just love those orange tips!?
Looks like Estes reached its peak time. It definitely was not at peak when we went a week ago.
Thank you for sharing the beauty with us.

    Take care~
