Good morning to you! It is a warm 50 degrees outside and it truly looks like spring. Our snow is almost gone, thanks to the wind; the gusts are really blowing.
Yesterday, hubby called from our Rec Center and said there was a new gal who showed up for Pickleball and I should come down. I ended up going and had a great time. For those that aren't familiar with the fastest growing sport in the U.S., especially among seniors, it is a cross between tennis and ping pong.
The paddle is light and similar to a racquetball paddle; there are as many different types as with any racquet.
The ball is a wiffle ball. I had tried Pickleball once, several years ago, but found the group to be too competitive for me, as a beginner. The group here in town is made up of players from all levels and I was able to join the beginner group that was not competitive. I can say, that while I was confused about some of the aspects of the game, it was such fun. I have needed some added exercise and I think this will help. The weather during the winter often keeps us inside; we don't have exercise machines and this will be a good alternative. They play three days a week and for three hours.
As I sit here, I can hear the wind gusting-which probably means I won't be taking Hunter out this morning. I am hoping to walk with a friend this afternoon and catch up on what's been happening in her life.
I hope you have a warm and hope filled day!
Joy to you~

Haven't heard of that game but it sounds interesting. Love ping pong but haven't played much recently at all. Enjoy your day Noreen. Glad it's warmed up!
ReplyDeleteThere are a bunch of people here who are super into Pickle Ball. From what I hear, it's more the "competitive" thing, which doesn't really appeal to me. Playing just for the delight of playing interests me, though!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy!
