An Early Birthday Celebration

Almost 32 yrs ago, I gave birth to our second daughter, Kim, on Christmas Day; it was a big surprise, considering I was scheduled for a repeat c-section on New Year's Eve. Once our girl was born, on such an important day, we decided to celebrate her birthday at the beginning of Dec. I knew many people that had Christmas birthdays and usually they were celebrated in June. We never wanted our girl to feel left out with parties and celebrations, so we opted to celebrate the first part of December. This year, it worked out to celebrate her birthday tonight. Let me tell you that our Kim has been a joy to all of us and we are very proud of the woman she is, the daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. We will be having dessert and spending more family time together-something that always brings me joy. I was running so far behind today with blogging, so instead of searching through photos, I thought I'd post this one and get a good photo of her tonight.

I hope you are having a good day and staying warm. Here in Colorado, storms are rolling in and polar temps are supposed to hit later this week, with snow. I've still got some more doll dresses to make but things are coming along; in fact, I have a very messy sewing room to show for it.
Blessings,
Noreen

  2. So happy you are close to your family to celebrate together. Your cold weather is supposed to hit us on Wed. I think. I'm praying for snow....I LOVE snow. The book arrived on my doorstep today. Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to sitting by the fire and reading this week. We've had some crazy busy days. Molly and I are DOWN for the count today, just being bums after our Thanksgiving holiday. Bless you friend!

  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your girl! We have a few December birthdays over here too and it IS hard. Hubby's the 17th, and two grand daughters. One on the 19th and the other on the 26th. They get shuffled despite our best efforts sometimes. One of my grand daughters will be 13 this year so we are trying to arrange something special for her. Wish we had some cold weather over here. It was 80 yesterday, but it is cooling tonight and tomorrow is only suppose to be 62... Enjoy your family!
