Monday Musings

Happy Monday to you!  Did any of you watch the football games yesterday?  We did and enjoyed them, especially the first one since we were routing for the Packers.
This morning is cold but beautiful, so far I've only been outside to pick up after our dog.  I've worked on emails, bible study, laundry and this afternoon I will be going to a friends house who is packing to move.  It is always better to share the load with friends when trying to accomplish a major task.
With our weather being cold and windy, you can always know I'll be in a turtleneck, jeans and warm socks.
Tonight I will be fixing spaghetti made with bison-so much better than beef, health wise, and we prefer the taste over ground turkey.

I wanted to share this picture that I took up in the Rockies a couple of years ago.  Many of you who are local may recognize it but I just loved how serene this little valley looked.  I can imagine homesteaders living here back in the day, working the land, living a simple life.  Part of me loves that idea but I'll be the first to admit I'm pretty spoiled with our modern life and all the gadgets that make life so much easier.

Have a delightful day filled with thanksgiving and joy.
Hugs today, Noreen

  2. Oh Noreen, what a beautiful pic! I am with you though! We are so spoiled but I can imagine if we had been neighbors and what a blessing it would be to see you if your "bonnet" and coming to lend a hand! (forgive the mental picture, LOL my mind instantly goes to little house on the prairie attire with your picture in that valley!!) Even so, you are a wonderful friend and neighbor and having your help packing with your friend today has got to be such a gift and bring so much joy!

Bless you my friend! You leave me with a smile on my face and warmth in my heart!

  3. I love Bison. And like you, I LOVE my comfy home Colorado is a glorious place to escape...high in the back country, tent pitched by a creek or close to a waterfall. Then it's back to the B&B for me. I really can't imagine the rough life people had back in the day....glory.

    never had any (o:
Can you imagine what that was like in the winter??? To be snowed in there. Maybe I could do one year...just to see if I could. Don't think I would like to be there forever though (o:

  5. Sweet day! I'm a turtleneck girl myself; and warm socks.

Hubby just recently developed a taste for Bison Burgers (from Denver). He can't find them here in the Seattle area, so I'm thinking he'll be traveling on business to Denver more than usual.

    Love the photo.

    Blessings,
    Kathleen

  7. Hi Noreen! I've never tried bison but it is sold at our grocery store--I'm alway hearing good things about it and may have to give it a try--We even have someone down the road that raises and sells it.

I love the picture too--I am like you and have an admiration for the pioneers, but know that I'm not nearly as tough as they were!

Hope you've had a good day!

  9. The picture is such a peaceful looking place. I will join the crowd and say I haven't had bison either but it sounds good. I am rooting for Green Bay as well, since our Saints aren't there this year. Go Packers!

  10. I have never tried Bison...hmmm might have to try it. Didn't watch the games, but my hubby was going with the Bears...sigh....Your pic made me think of little house on the prairie like Loren, haha, soo pretty. I think I like the "idea" of the time, but prefer my modern conveniences too. How sweet you are to help a friend with the packing. How many times I've though what a wonderful neighbor you'd be. Hope you had a good day! HUGS

  12. Hey there Nananor...
You are a great friend to help others that way.
Bison? Now that would be a first for me. I've (reluctantly) tried Wildebeest, impala, crocodile and many others (which I don't particularly enjoy), but Bison sounds just as odd from this distance. :)
That picture is beautiful! No wonder you love it...devoid of the clutter of modern living.
Sending lotsaluv to you and your family.

  16. Re-creating in my mind what life might have been like in the little cabin sure makes me appreciate how hard the inabitants had to work to sustain life...but oh how happy they must have been living in that lovely valley.

  17. Good Morning Noreen

What a beautiful picture. The Rockies are so pretty. I have been through them just a couple of times and also enjoy them.

I have never tried Bison. I am a funny meat eater so I probably will not try it.

I am finally feeling better and able to breathe. I am so glad to be over it.

    Blessings & Hugs

  18. Hi Noreen, I'm finally getting back with sweet new friends who have been praying for me after the loss of my dear and precious husband on Christmas Eve. It has been a terrible month filled with emotions, pain, loneliness and great memories. I thank you for posting your encouraging words and especially your prayers. It is such a difficult time as I begin the process of adjusting to the 'new' life God has set me in the middle of! Blessings to you, Cindy
