Weekend Transformation

As you know we have begun painting our home before we move into it. I decided to take before and after photos of this journey. The top photo is the family before we added color.
The color looks a bit more pastel in this photo but it is a grey blue and reminds me of the ocean; it changes the look depending on the time of day. The color is a very calming, tranquil color. Oh yes, we will be getting new carpets and all the trim will be painted white including the baseboards.

This is the color for the walls in most of the house and it is a warm color. The family room now reminds me of the beach, sand and the ocean. Hubby has seascapes that his dad painted and I know they will look lovely in this room. I can't wait until all the work is done; in fact this may become one of my favorite rooms in our home.
Have a wonderful peaceful kind of day!

  4. I love the color blue. It is a peaceful color. What a difference a little paint makes! I really like the ideas you have to make it like the ocean with the paintings, etc. I'm sure you will be spending much time here.

Hugs to you Noreen, my friend.

  5. Loving the colors - blue is one of my favorite. Our new house (we've been there 3 years now)is still white. I want some color but there have been so many other things to do, I haven't painted. I think at this point, I am going to wait until it needs painting to change the color.

I hope the work you are doing to prepare for this move goes smoothly.

  6. Hi Noreen,
How beautiful the color looks! Blue is my favorite color, and my husbands. Our bedroom is painted a greyish blue color. One wall is darker, and the rest are a lighter blue (with a white ceiling and baseboards). Your are right that blue is calming and tranquil. This room will be beautiful with the seacape paintings. Can't wait to see the finished project. Thank you for sharing!

I can't wait to see the paintings. (I have some of my mother's paintings.)
    Blessings,
    Miriam :)
