God's creation

When we arrived home our daughters and their families came to welcome us. Our oldest grandson proudly proclaimed that we had a baby bird in the bush in our backyard. We all scurried out to see and sure enough we have a baby Robin staying with us. Mama was quick to let us know that she did not approve of our close proximity to her baby so we left this little one alone. Before we brought our dogs home from the kennel we had to place a wire fence around the bush so the dogs wouldn't get to close. I have to go out each time the dogs go out just to make sure they don't see this little one and try to get to it. I love seeing babies up close but I'll be glad when this bird learns to fly and leaves us. In the past we've had scrub Jays nest in our yard and had quite a problem keeping the dogs from doing what comes naturally.
May your world be filled with wonder, as if from a child's eye.

  4. Glad you are home safe and had a good trip. Love the baby birds, but do fear for their safety around animals.

  5. Hi Noreen,
If we all could see life through the eyes of a child, what a wonderful world this would be. I know you were so thrilled when he wanted to show you the little bird, just sounds so familiar.
I am like you when I go away I am always so glad to be back in my little nest, and there is no place like home!!
I have just gone through some ordeal with barn swallows building on our porch, and boy did they harass us, to the point if they saw me looking out the window they would fly up to it..
They left last week with their two little ones and I am one happy camper, I am hoping to feel well enough to put things back in order , let me tell you they did make one mess.LOL

I told my dh never no more! there are plenty of barns around here to build their nest, after all they are barn swallows not porch swallows. LOL.
It is so good to be visiting again I felt so punky last week even when I made my last post. And It is sooooo good to have you back!!
    Hugs,
    Sue

  7. What a beautiful little bird - we don't have robins in our part of the world and they do look rather special. I love their big eyes! We had a pair of our native 'Noisy Miners' nest right ourside our back window a few years ago and I loved watching their progress. So special!
