Happy Tuesday to you~Last night Hunter was on one of his blitzes and took many of his toys outside in the frenzy. This pink poodle is among his favorites, albeit no eyes because he chewed them off-was he afraid she wouldn't like his looks?; then he sat down near her to participate in another activity he has gotten into lately-chewing on sticks. Looks like he's asking me what I'm looking at.
Generally, if he brings sticks into the house they are taken outside again immediately, so I imagine he was wondering if I was going to take it away from him. I also wondered if he felt this was o.k. since he participated in the Doggy Olympics in the stick competition.
I love this one because Hunter just seems so relaxed with his stick and his lovey. He ended up taking many more stuffies outside before calming down and since the sprinklers were coming on today, who do you think had to go out and retrieve them so they wouldn't be soaking wet-yep you got it.
He certainly makes us laugh and although there are still behavioral things I have to work on, his training is coming along.
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Monday to you~I hope you had a warm and relaxing weekend! Here in northern Colorado, it is a bright and cold 31 degrees outside with lots of frost. I imagine any bushes that change with the frost, will turn vibrant, after the weekend we had. Does anyone remember the t.v. show Northern Exposure? If it is the show I'm remembering, there was a radio station that would broadcast the forecast and the happenings in the town; that is what I'm feeling like today. I do know we don't get nearly as low in temps that some of our northern neighbors do, but it is still cold. Yesterday warmed up in the afternoon and hubby and I took Hunter out, we actually felt warm. I wish that autumn would hang out a bit before winter rushes in.
I have a pretty relaxed day today with walking sewing, study and I'm headed to my girl's at lunch time to lend a hand with the girls and hold Logan if necessary(necessary for me). I hope you have a good day and find joy amidst your routines.
Joy to you! Noreen

Baby It's Cold Outside
As this morning dawned, it was cold and our thermometer was reading 34 degrees. Can we say brrrr?
We had started our furnace last night because we had grands spending the night and the house was cold. After breakfast, I ran a quick errand and it really wasn't as cold out as it was yesterday; possibly because there wasn't a moistness to the air. It was comfortable for me wearing a turtleneck and sweater; so I thought I'd be safe for dog training if I added a waterproof, windbreaker. By the time I climbed out of my car at the trainers, I knew I was in trouble. Did I think to bring my snow jacket, that I pulled out yesterday, or gloves and a hat? No, didn't think I'd need them; big mistake. I wasn't there very long before I noticed it had begun to snow. The trainer asked if I was o.k. and I said sure-another mistake, I was at that moment but it would get colder. It began to snow in earnest and the trainers daughter began to ask if her mom would cut the class short. Her mom agreed but kept us going just a few more exercises. My little Hunter was cold and didn't like the idea of sitting on the wet ground. We did cut the class short, thankfully, because by then it was coming down. I got him in the car and cranked up the heat; mid way home he stopped whining. I got my hair dryer out when we got home and dried off his paws and legs. Lesson learned-be prepared for the snow and cold; next time I will have ample clothes in my car and a little parka for him. The trainer said in the future we will train in her garage and I'm thankful for that. Our last dog, Reggie, didn't go out on walks due to his arthritis so I didn't go walking too much when it was this cold; however training needs to continue regardless of the weather but I may just stick to the back yard. The bushes and tree in the photo was so pretty this morning, before the snow started, that I had to get a pic to share with you.
I hope you have a very comfortable day today-neither too hot nor too cold.
Enjoy your weekend.

Frost or Snow
Happy Friday to you! We have had internet issues all day, which is why I'm just now posting. After getting a new modem, things seem to be working-thankfully. This morning this is what we woke up to and although it is very light, hubby and I both thought it was snow but others have said they think it is just frost.
All I can say is that it is darn cold here today! I even got out my winter parka because I was freezing when we went out. We haven't yet turned on the furnace or gas fireplace, instead are just snuggling under quilts. We have two of our grands coming for the night, so I'll be covering them in quilts. Thankfully, our dog trainer uses her heated garage or basement when it's snowing, which it is supposed to do tomorrow and Sunday. I am still not ready for this weather and I'm going to try to be thankful for it-after all it could be worse-maybe flooding or a tornado etc etc. So I can deal with a little cold; after all it hasn't gotten down in the 20's yet.
Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Winter ???
This morning my hubby left our house about 7:00 a.m., the temp. was 42 degrees; when I went walking at 7:45, it had dropped to 39 degrees. It has gotten progressively colder; right now it is about 37 degrees. The smell of snow is in the air and let me tell you that after having 81 degrees yesterday, this is a drastic change. Now you all know I love cool weather and being inside sewing, but this is really cold and I'm not ready for it. I hear tell it is snowing in Montana today and as much as I love to share, you can keep it up there please.
I know California is having a heat wave but stop complaining, I don't think you really want to drop that much in temp in one day.
Hope you are all having a great Thursday and enjoying whatever weather you have.
I'm glad our daughter passed a jacket and sweater on to Hunter; if this keeps up, he'll need them.
Smile, it is contagious!

Ta Dah
My boy just got back from the groomers and I think he looks so handsome! Although he was so matted on his ears and face, the groomer couldn't believe how well behaved he was; in fact two other customers thought he was quite a bit older due to his behavior....yippee Hunter! We went shorter again because I am finding that no matter how much I try to brush him or use a metal comb, he still gets so tangled; the groomer told me if I start noticing it after this cut, to call her and she'll brush him out in between cuts. Now, that is why we go to a private groomer and not a pet store groomer(I know they are good too-I just like having a groomer who is 5 minutes away and does an incredible job). I am finding out that this little guy is much smarter than I gave him credit for and is probably playing games with me concerning his food. Oh well, just got to love him!
Sweet thoughts to you today.

Shaggy Tuesday
Good Morning Friends~ Here in Colorado, it is a cool 42 degrees. I am now wearing sweats in the morning instead of shorts; even pulling up a quilt during the night and early morning hours.
Although Hunter is just one adorable pup, can you tell how shaggy he's gotten? Oh and the tangles, even with brushing. Hunter goes to the groomer tomorrow and I get to go today-to my hair gal. It has been so long since I had my color done; I'm going to keep it as close to natural as I can but I do need some subtle highlights in front to brighten my face. I'm excited that Hunter goes in tomorrow; seems like his hair is getting longer faster-maybe it is his adult hair. In case you are thinking that it is fur, Bichon's have hair like poodles.
I've got to get out and work Hunter this morning; he does have a short attention span though and lets me know when he is done; I laugh at him and tell him I'll decide(of course I decide not too much after that).
Have a wonderful fall day; oh yes, snow is in our forecast for Friday and Saturday-really, I'm just not ready for it.
Hugs, Noreen & Hunter
