October Already?

Happy October to you! I hope you all had a great weekend~ours was so busy, but fabulous. On Saturday we went to my gal pal's daughter's wedding. It was such a magical wedding and we were so blessed to be there to help celebrate with the couple. Saturday night we went to Carrie's to celebrate her oldest daughter's, Miss F, 13th birthday. Look at the dinner they prepared. Let me tell you it was delicious!

After dinner, we all enjoyed a Chocolate fountain with lots of fruit.
Here she is with the two youngest kiddos in the families-Miss E who is 5 and Little Man who is now 6.
After presents, we played a new game called Watch Your Mouth-it was hysterical.  Then we had a large game of Tripoly.
Yesterday hubby and I went out to breakfast, to a restaurant that is from the Carolina's-called Famous Toastery.  We've been there before and enjoyed it just as much, except that I left our leftovers there.
In the afternoon a quilting friend and I went down to Longmont to hear a Quilt Historian/Appraiser speak on A Century of Quilts.  She is a wonderful story teller and has so many quilts she shared; one bonus was that we got to go through the Hover Home-it was beautiful.
Today hubby and I will hit the gym and I will again be downstairs sewing.
Have a great one.

Happy 16

Good Morning to you!  Our oldest grandson turned 16 on Friday~I wonder where the years have gone!

We had a wonderful party for him and because he's got such a great sense of humor, we made him wear snow gloves to unwrap his card and presents; this is a game I play at the Women's Fellowship Christmas party each year.  It is so hard to do and I told him, no teeth, knives, feet etc. could be used, just his hands.  It took him quite awhile, but I know he was pleased when he realized what he got.  On
Saturday all the guys in the family headed up to Estes Park for an adventure~they rented an extended ATV and went off roading in the snow and mud.  They all had a great time, despite the cold weather.  It is so fun that they can do fun activities like the girls do.  Actually all the girls went out to lunch and then did a little shopping afterward.  After I got home, I headed out as I needed a new top and shoes for the Memorial Ceremony at the end of the month.  All in all everyone had a great day!
I hope you had a fun weekend as well.  Tomorrow I'll be posting more photos of Ireland-to get you in the mood for St. Patrick's Day.
Joy to you!

Family Birthday Time

Happy Friday to you! I hope your week has been productive and some of your days have been filled with doing what makes your heart sing! Last Sunday, Grandson 'Mr. B' and hubby had birthdays~Mr. B turned 13 (we now have two teenage boys in the family)and hubby turned 64. We had previously celebrated hubby's birthday, so had a lunch to celebrate Mr. B's. Here is he after a wonderful lunch with his strawberry sundae.
Flowers that some of the girls planted.
More flowers that other girls in the family planted.
Below the kiddos are playing.
I
I love Copper's expressions!
I love this pic of the girls-look at the joy they elude.
Behind the sunflower and to the left you can see one of the girls on the zipline.  The kids love it.
Yes the kiddos have to climb up a platform anchored to the telephone pole.  None have a fear of heights-thankfully. Of course, the 3 yr olds need help grabbing onto the handle.

Well I'm off to power walk this morning-it's been several weeks and I just hope I get my rhythm back.
I've already got laundry going and will be doing some chores when I get back.
Have a great day!

A Cookout Birthday Party

Happy Tuesday to you all. Last Friday night our family gathered for an outdoor cook-out birthday party. In years past, we have all been camping and celebrated Mr. B's birthday around a campfire. This year, the family couldn't work out times to go camping together, so Mr. B decided to have his party in the next best thing- in their back yard. The weather was wonderful and we were told that the only time we could go inside was to use the bathroom.  Here sil is cooking the hotdogs over their fire pit.
The birthday boys-Mr. B turned 12 and Papa turned 63.
Little ones playing on the trampoline.

Rice Crispie treats and S'Mores for dessert.
Mr. B's haul, he is one happy boy.  After presents and dessert, many played frisbee on the lawn. It was a wonderful celebration and best of all, I didn't need to sleep on a air mattress.
Today we are supposed to get rain.  Don't know what the afternoon will hold for me.
Hope your day is filled with smiles.

The Party

Happy Friday to you! We had such a fun family gathering last night; some children are so anxious to open presents and find lots of joy in the unwrapping and then there are some quiet little ones who become very shy about the whole process of being a center of attention. I can say Miss A comes by that naturally, from me. I have never liked having lots of people focus on me; I'd much rather have one on one time. Miss A loved her presents, from start to finish. We had a great dinner-her requests were hot dogs, beans, homemade french fries, and veges. The fries were so good that everyone kept going back for more and more. The kiddos all enjoyed playing outside as well, why the adults got time to sit and chat.
I got a text this morning showing that she was already wearing the clothes we got her-yeah!
I've been out this morning on a walk with Hunter, almost two miles.  A friend and I are going out to lunch in a little bit and I plan on a short bike ride this afternoon as well as spending time outside.
I hope you have a fantastic day and weekend.
Hugs, Noreen

Celebrate Good Times

Today is a very special day in our family~our oldest Grandson turns 14. Wow, it is hard to even write that. One of the reasons we went to Estes Park this last week was to celebrate J's birthday. Although we always go up there in the winter, for the families Christmas gift, we usually go in January or February. Our boy just got braces last week and still getting used to them-probably the reason for his tight smile.
All of the grands love to watch Duck Dynasty and we thought this was the perfect card for him.
Little man had an old cell phone and was pretending to take photos. Isn't he just a cutie!
Hubby and I love playing cribbage and have taught the grands to play too.  It was fun seeing the girls play.  There is so much life, laughter, love and joy when we are together.
Today it is supposed to get into the 60's-so incredible, just what I need.  I'm going to put Hunter's leash on him and we are going for a little walk.  Last night, I could definitely tell that I haven't been walking, as my legs were pretty tight.  I was surprised because the walk is so flat and easy, only 1 mile, but I guess I need to realize that it has been a month since I've done any walking.  I'm back into my pre-surgery clothes and happy about that, but in the evening my tummy still gets a bit puffy-something that is very common with hysterectomies.
I hope your day is filled with sunshine, bird singing and contentment!
Blessings,
Noreen
