Loving Fall

Happy Friday to you. I am loving the last bit of fall, but it is raining here today and the leaves are mainly on the ground. It is cold and I'm looking forward to staying inside today; I'll probably be downstairs sewing for the afternoon. Last winter, hubby and I talked about adding some burning bushes to our back yard, along the fence. For some reason when we went looking for the bushes, all the nurseries were sold out and we never got any. Fast forward to this autumn when I'm loving seeing all the burning bushes in their glory around. This coming spring/summer we will be getting around five bushes and they will be planted-got to have me some.

I found this photo online last year and have had it on my desk top; I decided it was a perfect Autumn scene. Love it I tell you.
This morning I had an appointment with a new doctor-a GP and I really liked him. My old doctor is leaving main stream medicine so I was in need of a doctor that takes insurance.  My new doctor is all about living a healthy lifestyle and using natural remedies whenever possible, with prescription medicines being the last resort.  This has been my philosophy for most of my life and it was so refreshing to meet a doctor with the same viewpoint.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, the last day of the month is here-where has the year gone?
Joy to you!

Happy Thursday to you all. It definitely feels like fall is here and I'm fondly remembering fall in northern Ca. If I could choose one place to spend time in the fall and experience the grandeur of the colors, it would be in New England-Vermont, New Hampshire, upstate New York and Maine. Oh how we loved Maine! In fact, we hope to get back there next year and spend several weeks enjoying the beauty of the state. These photos were taken here in Colorado last year; as I've said our colors haven't changed much yet, but I'm hoping that we will be taking a drive over the weekend to see if the colors have a beginning tinge of gold and orange.

I just got back from taking Hunter for a walk and now have to hit the grocery store-we have friend coming tomorrow to spend the night with us and I want to make sure I have all our food stocked up.
My days seem to be filling up and on one hand it's good to be productive, but on the other hand I love slower days.  Maybe this weekend; I just realized that I missed the first show of the Voice last night and that I will miss the football game tonight as I have a ladies meeting.  I'm thankful we have DVR so I can record the shows I'll miss.
I hope your day is filled with the promise of blessings.
Joy to you~

Autumn At My House

Good Morning to you dear friends.  I finally got around to taking some photos of harvest decorations in our home.  You can click on the photo to get a bigger shot of these.  My oldest and her family had a wonderful garden this year and I was on the receiving end of it.  I love gourds, they had so many and it was wonderful to get them for our center island plus two  pumpkins.

I'm off to go to court today with a friend to watch a trial; I love watching trials.
It's so beautiful here, I love this time of year.  Hubby and I are heading to the high places tomorrow to see the colors and the Elk; I can't wait.
Have an incredible day my friends.

Fall is in the air

I haven't yet been up to the high places to see if the color is near its peak but I hope to soon; these photos are from different areas of Colorado and were taken last year(not by me), the year the mountains were ablaze with colors.
Although I do miss the various shades of red and purple, I have come to love the yellows of the Aspens.

I just love these sights! I have come to love each season here, although the hard winter is not my favorite like it was the first year we lived here.  I remember feeling the winter was so romantic~we had the fireplace on, didn't need to go anywhere and would sit and watch the snow for hours on end.  The older we get, the harder clearing the driveway and sidewalks has become, but I am content at this stage in life. I love to have autumn candles burning, hot tea or cider, sitting and quilting for hours and of course watching football on t.v. has become a favorite too.  I still long to go back to New England again, maybe in a few years if the economy picks up and things become a bit easier.
Are you experiencing the signs of autumn in your neck of the woods?  What are your favorite things about this season?
Blessings on your day, Noreen

Fall Colors

I have had the privledge of traveling through New England several times over the last 10 years and both my husband and I love it. Although we've never hit the time of year when the colors peak we have been blessed to see glorious displays of autumn. We loved the quaint towns and villages, the covered bridges, friendly people but mostly we loved the back roads. I am notorious for always choosing to drive the back roads, I so prefer a slower pace and really seeing the countryside.
Within the next week or so I hope to get to "high places" here in northern Colorado but until I do I am content to look at photos of New England. Our dream has been to spend a good three weeks in New England and Maine, really getting to see sights that you can't take in during a quick visit. We'll see whether it materializes next Oct. or not but until then I can look back on our photos and read my Country magazine.
