I can't believe I forgot to add this on to my Friday post, so if you didn't see my post from this morning please check out our sewing.
However, today I want to remember my Mother who passed away 41 yrs ago today. She was only 61 and it was sudden, I was only 22-I would have thought I was younger. Much too young to lose a Mom, especially when I was still so immature and bratty. She never got to see me married or having children; thankfully my dad did.
This is their wedding photo-boy they were such a gorgeous couple. Many people thought my dad looked like Fred Astaire and my mom truly looked like a movie star. I still have her wedding dress and periodically pull it out for our grands to try on. Miss you Mom.
Joy to you!
Noreen
Happy Thanksgiving!

I see Kim in your mom's face, Noreen... which is interesting as I've always thought Kim looks so much like John.
ReplyDeleteOh my they were very beautiful people!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photograph, a treasure forever. Hugs to you on this sad anniversary, I am sorry that you lost your precious mother when you both were so young; but, what comfort that she is always with you in your heart and watching over you from her heavenly home!
ReplyDeleteNoreen, Your parents are very good looking ...what a nice wedding it must have been. I know you miss your mom. I do not think we ever stop longing to see our parents or hug them .Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

ReplyDelete((Hugs)) That was a long time ago. I lost my mother 35 years ago at 56. I was 30 years old. I often wonder how life would have been having her around all these years. What a lovely couple your parents were. My mother was lucky enough to see all of her grandchildren that were born.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo ! I have all my mum and dads wedding photos to . My dad passed 19 years ago and my mum 7 years ago . I still miss them both but they are always in my memories and heart ! Thanks for sharing , have a good day !

Oh Noreen I am soo sorry you lost your mom at such a young age. Hubby lost his when he was only 14. How hard that must have been in many, many ways. They were a VERY handsome couple! We never stop missing them do we? Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture of your Mom and Dad. I am so sorry you lost your mom so young. I lost my dad at 21 (I was HIS GIRL) and my mom at 35. It changes who you are when you lose a parent and they never get to see you grown with a life of your own. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOH WHAT a beautiful couple / how sad to lose your lovely mama so young :(
ReplyDeleteThe anniversary of a loved one's death is always a day of reflection. My own mother passed away when my children were ten and thirteen so she was able to watch them grow and they felt her love. I'm so thankful for that. My dad died when my son was an infant so neither child has any memory of him at all.
ReplyDeleteI love the wedding photograph. What a lovely couple.
What a beautiful wedding photo of your parents! I know you miss your Mom very much.
ReplyDeleteThe photos of the girls with their hot pads is so cute. Such memories you are making!!
