Happy Friday to you! If you've followed my blog for any length of time, you know that all my grandparents came from Ireland. My parents never got to go there to see the family roots, but both my sister and brother & sister of my heart have. It was something I always hoped to do, but wasn't sure it would be a reality. You can imagine my surprise when hubby presented me with tickets for a trip. We've never traveled to Europe, so going to Ireland will be a new adventure. We have our route picked out, plan to stop and possibly meet a second cousin and tour the area where my dad's family was from. Here are a few pics of what we are planning to see, among other places. I am definitely getting in the mood; we've been told that once we see Ireland, it will wet our appetite to go back again.
Lots and lots of castles, not sure we'll stop at every one-after all we only have two weeks. We plan on seeing a lot of quaint towns and visiting woolen mills, quilts shops, Waterford Crystal factory as well as Beleek. We will only spend a few days in Northern Ireland, but will go to the Titanic museum.
Today our weather is rainy and cold again-I think I'm ready for the possibility of rain there. My daughter helped me pull all my outfits together last night, so I'm feeling pretty organized. Today is another busy day, but this weekend will be more relaxed.
Sending hugs and love your way!
